seriously one of the most harrowing books i've ever read

the "sex" in it is particularly unpleasant. the scene when she's with the commander and the wife and they're trying to conceive...i had to put the book down for a couple weeks after finishing that

oh man and then when her in-town friend gets replaced towards the end...chilling

the whole movie made me uncomfortable but the book was a million times better
