Kyle Shanahan takes three-year deal to be Browns OC

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...o-be-browns-oc

2014 is going to be a great year for the Browns. :banging:

Trotskilicious 02-04-2014 09:27 PM

oh man they could get kirk cousins that'll set the franchise right

Banana 02-04-2014 09:55 PM

Disgusted how the draft has been moved back to May this year making an already long off season all the longer.

Eulogy 02-09-2014 09:57 PM

should be an openly gay dude on a roster next year. pretty cool.

duovamp 02-09-2014 10:26 PM

Kind of surprised it wasn't RG3 or Rodgers.

Eulogy 02-09-2014 10:39 PM

RG3 really?

the rodgers rumors seem pretty solid. that would be awesome. i've always liked him but i'd like him even more if he were an open gay. he's pretty dreamy. in a weird, backwoods sorta way.

duovamp 02-09-2014 11:26 PM

I dunno, if I gave any answer to that question it'd basically mean I'm assuming and admitting I subscribe to the notion that there is a stereotypical "gay male" that someone resembles. I guess probably because RG3 is really smart and sensitive. And he has pretty eyes.

duovamp 02-09-2014 11:27 PM

Also COME ON.

duovamp 02-09-2014 11:29 PM

Also if anyone here has the time this is probably one of the absolute best things I've read this year.

Heartbreaking at Gilliam, gets pretty deep at Cam, slam-fucking-dunk at RG3.

duovamp 02-09-2014 11:56 PM

Oh Cleveland...

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 12:26 AM

first: how does a tie happen in american football
second: what a fuckin terrible way to visualize data.

The teams score the same number of points.

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 12:49 AM

man

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 12:49 AM

you really are something sometimes

Eulogy 02-10-2014 12:52 AM

What don't you get?

Eulogy 02-10-2014 12:53 AM

Overtime does not last forever. Ties are rare, but it's fairly easy to understand how they happen.

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 12:53 AM

you know what

Eulogy 02-10-2014 12:54 AM

No, I don't.

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 12:54 AM

i thought sudden death was a thing for every football game. jesus christ.

Trotskilicious 02-10-2014 01:05 AM

it is, but if they never score in fifteen minutes of gametime then it results in a hilarious tie

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 01:06 AM

in round robin tournaments, such as the epl, draws are indeed commonplace. in knockout tournaments, it goes into two 15 minute overtimes, a penalty shootout and if still no winner is declared, sudden death.

it seemed inconceivable to me that if a sport has a period that is called "sudden death" then they play until a winner is declared.

how is it done in the playoffs, hot shot?

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 01:06 AM

what im trying to say is that the words "sudden death" imply something completely different than what the nfl does.

Trotskilicious 02-10-2014 01:09 AM

also nfl overtime is not sudden death anymore

Trotskilicious 02-10-2014 01:10 AM

and why are you mad at me, i'm just telling you how it works

in the playoffs they play until someone scores

nfl ot is no longer sudden death, the other team gets to get a crack at possession after a score. so it rewards going for a touchdown instead of winning the coin toss and getting a FG

i guess with the lack of sudden death we may have a playoff ot game taht goes on for hours and hours

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 01:12 AM

im not mad at you. im mad at eulogy an his terse snarkiness. snarky terseness.

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 01:13 AM

i would love to see that though.

get every benchwarmer out there as everyone starts to collapse from exhaustion.

Trotskilicious 02-10-2014 01:14 AM

it's hard for him to fathom an individual that doesn't intuitively understands the interworkings of a ridiculously complicated sport

i know, it would be epic

i do think the rules work like if team a scores a TD in ot, then team B responds with a score then it becomes sudden death

but i am not an expert on the nfl rules book

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 01:15 AM

gotta love real football though

rule #1: kick d'ball into d'goal

why not turdfucker.

Trotskilicious 02-10-2014 01:16 AM

Rule 2: can't use your hands to do it
rule 3: don't be a fuckin dick

Trotskilicious 02-10-2014 01:19 AM

rule 4: if the ball goes out on the sides, it is a turnover and you get to throw it in
rule 5: if the ball goes out the back, if its on the attack then it is a turnover and goal kick. if it is on the defender then a spot kick will be taken at the corner by the attack
rule 6: 11 men including the goalkeeper per side
rule 7: goalkeeper can use hands
rule 8: visitor will kick off to start game, home will kick off to start second half (or the other way around)
rule 9: seriously don't be a dick

Bread Regal 02-10-2014 01:20 AM

i always have to watch hand egg when hanging out with the in-laws so i spend most of the time asking about obscure scenarios like the onside kick, multiple passes per play etc.

so i asked "what does someone have to do to to get kicked out of a game?"
"basically, throw a punch"
"so do they have to play a man down the rest of the game?"
"no"

what the fuck is the point of that i mean really.

Trotskilicious 02-10-2014 01:20 AM
