is there a place online where one can find a new place to live

craigslist is about 85% spam at this point.

yo soy el mejor 01-20-2014 02:31 PM

padmapper.com is aight

Trotskilicious 01-20-2014 03:05 PM

sad how far craigslist has dropped, we can't ever have nice things

Trotskilicious 01-20-2014 03:05 PM

zillow.com

Bread Regal 01-20-2014 03:31 PM

both of those actually seem pretty useful.

and yeah craigslist is such a shithole now. anything that's in my price range is a scam. it wasn't even 3 years ago that you used to be able to find a good deal on a rental but now. sheesh.

Bread Regal 01-20-2014 03:35 PM

and we're getting curious about maybe buying a house but our credit rating is in the toilet. rent to own is categorically a scam, right?

yo soy el mejor 01-20-2014 03:40 PM

check out this cute apartment i just found: http://www.padmapper.com/show.php?ty...81618&src=main

finding something with a decent/big enough kitchen, in-unit laundry, a little character, and at that price is unheard of. it could have something to do with the neighborhood it's in, but i happen to like mexican people.

one day i'd like to get my mitts on a foreclosure home and pound away on it all weekend every weekend.

Bread Regal 01-20-2014 03:53 PM

i think foreclosure homes are largely a myth because there are basically two scenarios:

the house was underwater, in which case the balance remaining on the mortgage isn't that great relative to the value of the house.

the house was not underwater in which case the person would have already put it on the market and sold it thereby avoiding foreclosure.

if it's a foreclosure, the bank owns the place. do you really think they're going let you take over the payments on a foreclosure when they can sell a new mortgage to some other schlep?

Bread Regal 01-20-2014 04:16 PM

and that apartment is cute as fuck.

are there a lot of messicans in chicago/ i thought it was puerto ricans mostly.

Bread Regal 01-20-2014 05:23 PM

oh god i just looked at my credit score and it's worse than i remember.

the annoying part is:

payments made on time: 100%

all my debt is ER bills from when i was shitting and/or pissing blood. depressing.

Hello Lovely Tenant,

Thanks for your interest and inquiries about my House. My names are Pastor Johnson Waltman,The house is still available for rent and we are looking for a responsible Person to occupy and maintain the house. Myself and my wife just traveled to WEST AFRICA NIGERIA for a program called SERVING IN MISSION ( http://www.sim.org/index.php/content/our-purpose). We will be away for 5 to 6 years or more that is why I have made up my mind to put up my house for rent to who ever that will take good care of it. My initial plan was to sell the house but it was not successful because the Realtor raised the price which made it difficult for me to sell before leaving the States so never mind if you see the for sale sign in front of the house, It has already been taken off the market as for sale so there is no need to contact any Realtor Because i don't deal with them anymore. How long do you intend to stay and how soon do you intend to move in?

Rental price: $500 per month and security deposit is $300 (security deposit is refundable). Utilities included in monthly rent
Here is the address of the House : 608 Hillcrest St, Orlando, FL 32803
You can reach me on the +234-810-582-0464 or 011+234-810-582-0464

yeah, all mine is from medical bills, mostly psych stays and a couple overnights for breathing problems.

thanks, obama.

reprise85 01-20-2014 07:55 PM

one of the collection agencies that has a 800$ psych bill just re-filed it like it just happened.

FUCK YOU, you just reset the seven years.

whenever i'm looking for a new place i drive around the area i like, and if there's a complex i see i'll hit it up on apartmentratings.com to see the general floorplan prices and to make sure it isn't a complete shithole. the review averages are generally always low even at high end places because people don't understand a complex =/= a resort that wipes your ass, but still its a good way to divinate what you'd be getting into.

alot of the places around here that rent out but aren't complexes have flyers outside of them. anyway, my two cents would be to drive around the area you like and see if you find anything

Eulogy 01-20-2014 08:56 PM

found our place on craigslist. pretty much perfect for us.

but i was looking on and off for like two years. and i looked a lot. so when i saw this one i knew it was the right one.

Starla 01-20-2014 09:13 PM

I used to find all my apts on craigs. Apartment ratings is entertaining to read sometimes.

Banana 01-20-2014 09:23 PM

I need to find an apartment out in Denver. I'm going to move out there and get in on this gold rush while it's at it's start. It's foolish to think that the next billion dollar company isn't going to be one benefiting from the legalized marijuana. Got to get out there and get in on it early. Ride that wave.

duovamp 01-20-2014 09:39 PM

Found my place on Clist. Sadly most land lords around here use absolutely zero online advertising... Apparently everybody is old.

reprise85 01-20-2014 10:17 PM

Yeah, I found mine on craigslist as well.

I have had strong similar thoughts. Real talk.

Trotskilicious 02-02-2014 07:26 AM

when planned communities are done right it's kind of impressive

when they're done wrong you have the houston suburbs

Bread Regal 02-02-2014 10:35 AM

coral way is a pain in the ass to drive on sometimes, but yeah it's maybe the most beautiful arterial road i've ever seen.

Bread Regal 02-02-2014 10:35 AM

and there's this public pool in the middle of it:

reprise85 02-02-2014 10:47 PM

my sister lives across from university of miami near doctor's hospital which is perhaps the nicest hospital i've been to. all private rooms. they have music therapists. my sister had surgery and they had a nurse in the OR whose entire job was communicating with the families in the waiting room of the surgery/ICU. she called me like every 15 minutes to let me know things were ok

Bread Regal 02-02-2014 11:07 PM

south miami hostpital. my gramma used to practice there.
