lets talk about television

i have been watching dr. who also i just started watching the league of gentlemen and it's just about the darkest comedy i've ever seen it's incredible

this is a local shop for local people. we'll have no trouble here.

yo soy el mejor 01-10-2014 02:19 PM

if you watch shows from your computer, do they cease being television shows and become computer shows?

i watch a lot of shows on the computer. namely the first 48, 48 hours, and the like. every sunday tim and i would watch a new i survived on the bio website but then it got moved to lifetime. now it's gone from there and i doubt i'll see a new episode again.

yo soy el mejor 01-10-2014 02:21 PM

tim recently got me started on trailer park boys. iz funny. funnier than i imagined it would be. i avoided it for so long for some reason.

i guess i won't start watching a show just because someone (or tons of someones (think breaking bad)) says it's tight. if that were the case i would do nothing but watch shows.

reprise85 01-10-2014 03:45 PM

trailer park boys is great.

i recently watched all of modern family. shut up, i like it

my top three:
the sopranos
six feet under
breaking bad

the wire is a close fourth

Trotskilicious 01-10-2014 05:10 PM

ARE THEY LOCAL

bignothing 01-10-2014 06:46 PM

At the moment I am really excited for

Currently watching Sons of Anarchy and AHS Coven. I have to catch up on Doctor Who since now that I know Matt Smith will leave soon I can rush through his episodes and get to Peter Capaldi. Excited about that. I've also been meaning to start The Wire... and Hannibal. It will happen eventually.

They did a live show in Philly last month that was awesome.

I can't wait for True Detectives to start this Sunday. Looks so god damn good.

It's hard for me to watch television. It just seems like an incredible burden to me to try and get into new shows.

My girl forced me to watch Buffy a few years ago and I was sure I would hate it and ended up loving it more than anything in the world. changed my fucking life

yeah it's so good. probably upped only by twin peaks in terms of holy shit I can't believe there is no more of this show for me to watch factor

kelsome 01-11-2014 09:44 AM

many shows i have yet to get into. Kind of want to see what everyone is on about with Dr. Who. The only show I watch regularly that's still making new episodes is Bob's Burgers.

Eulogy 01-11-2014 10:27 AM

Only current shows I'm watching/plan to watch when they come back are Parks and Rec, Bob's Burgers (holy shit you guys how has no one mentioned this yet?), Archer, AHS, and The Americans.

I did watch downton abbey on Sunday but I don't see myself staying with it.

Derp I missed kelsome's post.

Starla 01-11-2014 10:35 AM

American Horror story - it's not so great this season
Downton
Ripper street
Sister wives
House of cards
Lost in Austen (just finished)

when I get time I watch Justified, game of thrones, or whatever might be on pbs.

Does the show ever reveal what the butcher is peddling on the side?

I think it's way better than The Office

Eulogy 01-11-2014 01:19 PM

oh and House of Cards. will likely finish that in 2 or 3 days.

Banana 01-11-2014 02:43 PM

House of Cards is really good although I feel like it really steps away from the realm of being realistic towards the end of the season. Can't wait for season 2 though.

I don't think this show comes back on until fall, so you have time. As the production value gets higher, the number of episodes per season keeps dropping and the time in between seasons keeps growing

pale_princess 01-11-2014 02:56 PM

current runs i'm lovin: ahs: coven, nashville, parenthood, the mindy project, brooklyn nine-nine

looking forward to girls starting up again and the premiere of looking (aka "girls but with gays") and of course the febRUary premiere of s6 of rupaul's drag race

Ol' Couch Ass 01-11-2014 05:08 PM

Sucks Boardwalk Empire is coming to an end, but I appreciate them not drawing it out. Curious to see how it ends.

Elvis The Fat Years 01-11-2014 06:06 PM

5 - 6 season. 13 -16 episodes per season is the way to go.

No.

That whole plotline is definitely Gattis

I'm going to be honest, I was not aware there were television shows besides Breaking Bad.

Bread Regal 01-12-2014 07:20 PM

House of Cards is pretty good. Just finished episode 7. Although I get pretty bored when characters become primarily motivated by sex. I hope that doesn't end up happening. Also the parts where Underwood talks to the camera can be pretty jarring, but I get why they do it that way.

Tried watching Firely and couldn't make it past the first half hour of the pilot. Is there a reason I should continue watching it?

They are only doing one more season? Fucking weak. It is one of HBO's best shows and they can go for years by just keeping on following the timeline.

Banana 01-12-2014 07:53 PM

"You've said before you'd like to have six seasons. What's the bigger picture — the formation of the Big Seven, the gangster conference in Atlantic City, the beginnings of a national crime syndicate? Are all these subplots to serve a greater whole?" -

"Hopefully we'll get to six, if not more than that. Six at minimum to be fully satisfied. And yes, if we get that far, I want to show the Big Seven. Nucky almost alluded to that in episode nine, that he was sort of thinking along those lines, so hopefully we'll get there, or even the end of Prohibition. So yes, I'm thinking of a bigger picture. Certain people will come and go, and minor players or certain people we meet along the way will come to prominence in later years."

slunken 01-13-2014 07:54 PM

just watched the first season of dexter. what a fucking let down.
