So if your partner doesn't want to get married/engaged you'll break it up?

kelsome 01-01-2014 12:46 PM

it's not as black and white as I said. It's more about moving on from something that isn't going to go anywhere/isn't going well. we have had long enough to figure things out. I need to start thinking about having a happy life at some point.

You can plan it and it's as simple as going to Home Depot and buying some rope, electrical tape and a shovel for "just in case".

No special plans yet. Hopefully losing some weight and quitting smoking. But we'll see.

Are you in the commercial law sector starting at the bottom? Or community type work.

I would quit smoking first. You'll put on weight doing that, I could nearly guarantee it. The worst thing is to lose weight and then quit smoking and put it back on. It just makes you want to take it up again. Plus, the tricks you learn abstaining from cigarettes come in handy when abstaining from food.

Well, aside from the time that I'm working my job to keep the roof over our heads, ya know?

Congratulations! You didn't mention the exquisite torture of sleep deprivation so long may that last! Keep an eye on your wife for signs of depression, seeing as its your first. if she's breastfeeding and begins menstuating again early, the hormone cocktail can wreak havoc on her emotions...

As for me, I have my first paid job in 8 years. 20 hours a week. Both my kids are at school this year. I have to give up playing organ and piano but I'm hopeful I can keep choir and tennis, and I've changed my running schedule to 5k a day so I hope to keep that up too, by avoiding injuries.

English composition and a math reconstruction course, which is two math courses in one semester (but you go 4x a week instead of 2x). So it's 10 credits, but only two classes at a time.

That's awesome, congrats. I know for you it was staying home with your kids and etc and not depression like me, I've been working now for about 16 months and I feel so much better. I was up to full time (35+ hrs a week for a year) but will be am cutting back to 25 (which was supposed to start this week but they still gave me 30, I have to talk to them about it). I'm going to be soooo busy with school, work, and therapy 2x a week.
