cash. about $2k between my husband and I, from our families. He bought himself a laptop bag from the Apple store and some Asahi, some cider, and a couple of bottles of Central Otago Pinot Noir. And I had my hair straightened and my eyebrows shaped. The rest went on the kids and Christmas duties - food and alcohol for the various meetups, obligatory presents for others, etc. Everything is so frickin expensive. We decided to get the kids a rabbit each. My five year old's first rabbit got sick and then died. It was horrible. Now we have two healthy ones and they love them to bits but guess who has to clean up after them. It was among my more stupid ideas.

I wanted a razor with clip attachments. my chest hair has blown up this last year and now I've got it coming out of my ears and nose like never before. (2nd puberty? is that a thing?)

vixnix; giving pets for Christmas is the worst. There should be an advisory against it.

Eulogy 12-27-2013 08:39 PM

i got a very cool candleholder that i was really excited about it and then i broke it and it is a seriously crushing feeling. hopefully can find a way to fix it. i was ready to just buy another one but they aren't in stock anymore.

i hate shit like that. breaking things is so sad. a few months ago i broke a plain pint glass and was sad about that for a couple hours. haaaaate.

Trotskilicious 12-27-2013 10:17 PM

It's not quite that bad. we've been planning to get chickens again for about six months, and decided to get rabbits instead...and combined the expense of getting rabbits with the expense of buying Christmas gifts. Buy rabbits are pretty high maintenance. Ours are currently in a hutch in our rumpus room so I have to clean it out at least once a day or it starts to smell. Not sure what we're going to do about it long term. They need to be kept inside to be social. I'll probably try and litter train them a bit, at least, so clean up is a bit easier.

It's why I haven't been posting much. Restricted Internet privileges. Also my room is freezing.

Eulogy 12-28-2013 12:09 PM

we actually got a lot of stuff for our apartment. that's pretty gay i guess.

i'm still sad about the fucking candleholder though : (

slunken 12-28-2013 12:15 PM

Punch line: it broke while shoving it up an ass

Bread Regal 12-28-2013 12:24 PM

i was gonna post 1 guy 1 jar up there after "seriously crushing feeling", but i though it'd be too much.

Eulogy 12-28-2013 12:28 PM

it actually broke because i was excited and impatient and trying to jam a candle that was too big into it

heh heh heh heh

Eulogy 12-28-2013 12:29 PM

while we're on the subject, what can i use to adhere metal to metal? tried super glue but that failed miserably. is there some sort of putty that would work?
