How were the classes at second city

You there, yessir. Very good question. At first I was a little embarrassed that it was improv for social anxiety - there are 4 levels of it. but if at any time you feel ready to transfer into "regular" classes that's no big deal. 'for anxiety' included 4hr long ebt sessions beforehand and i'm not sure but i think some of the warm-up exercises we did at second city helped to challenge our anxiety, too. lots of speaking directly to one another. lots of eye contact. spea-king slow-ly. exaggerated movements. etc..

ebt sessions met at a place called the sardine bar and we were encouraged to do what we call "exposures" every week but we weren't held to anything. and we played wacky games that really didn't allow much room to not look silly.

why can't I ask you about math?
tomorrow is my last final of the semester and I could really use some help with my Galois groups. :(

sri lanka, i s'pose. i did a report on it around the age of 12. i remember looking at pictures online and thinking it looked like a beautiful place to visit one day. some other popular travel destinations look fun, too.

call me crazy, but i don't really place much importance on traveling. of course i'm down for free trips (wink wink) and i think i'd like most places with bright sunsets and starry skies. i'd star-gaze and chit-chat all night, son. maybe a l'il bubbly, too, if you know what i'm thinking.

Ap calc 1 is the highest level that's generally offered. Didn't take it till I was 26.

what topics are those? derivatives & basic integration?

Yeah.calc 2 covers integration in polar and parametric and infinite series. Calc 3 is multivariable and vector calc.

I just bought Rudin's Principles of Mahtematical Analysis on amazon. Are you familiar with this book?

I've crossed it, but never had it as assigned reading. how good are you at writing proofs?
& why would you buy math books? download the pdf...

I find a physical book more appealing to carry around. The ipad isn't always ideal for reading. I've written a few proofs, but nothing huge. I've yet to takeaway proof based class.

Just read/get How to Prove It - Velleman
it covers a lot of ground that might seem trivial yet is often overlooked, especially for Analysis and Abstract Algebra. The rest is just practice.

i have confidence in my ability to learn things. but not that. all i have to go up to in college is trig. thank the lord i dont believe in

i always did well in math classes (5 on the AP calc test, which was as far as I went) but then i got to college and had for some reason convinced myself i was terrible at math so i took one stats class to fulfill the requirement and called it a day

still not sure where i got the idea that i was bad at it (i still have that idea, except now i am sure i actually am bad because i haven't done it in forever and never went beyond calc 1). i kind of remember enjoying it too. WHAT COULD MY LIFE BE LIKE RIGHT NOW

i was scary good at statistics. strangely i got a C or D in everything from algebra to calc

my stats class seemed like 5th grade level stuff. it was great.

ahh man i have an advanced statistics final due tomorrow and i have no idea what i'm doing. gimme your skills.
