I HAVE A WEEK AND A HALF OFF!!!

margin

reprise85 12-01-2013 10:24 PM

Well, I have class on the 2nd and 9th, but besides that. So far I've:

1. Broken the back of one of my teeth off
2. Had two days of fever dreams from a cold turned bronchitis.

Over/under for a broken bone?

Trotskilicious 12-01-2013 10:24 PM

bronchitis? ain't nobody got time for that.

reprise85 12-01-2013 10:25 PM

for real man and my cold turned into bronchitis in less than 24 hours that has to be some kind of record

i worked until 2pm friday, nose was drippy but not too bad otherwise, was still unsure if it was allergies or a cold. friday night FUCK YOU ERICA YOU CANT BREATHE NANER NANER

i did somehow acquire some peanut butter M&Ms though because there is a wrapper on my floor but i do not remember when i got them

reprise85 12-01-2013 10:29 PM

you know what is also hilarious is my insurance wants pre authorization to give me asthma medication for my nebulizer and wont even given me a couple until tomorrow when they can reach my doctor

so basically, if i die someone tell my family so they can sue the SHIT out of united healthcare for not covering a life and death medication k thanks

im not going to die but it'd be nice if i didnt have to use my 'two puffs every 4-6 hours' emergency inhaler every 15 minutes

Trotskilicious 12-01-2013 10:47 PM

i said oh jesus it's a fyurrrrrrrrrr

MusicMan4 12-01-2013 10:49 PM

This margin thing is just a weird scam to plus one
The board looks fine

Order 66 12-01-2013 11:04 PM

i don't have off but everything's really slow at the end of the year so i'm just going to whack off until new years

reprise85 12-01-2013 11:12 PM

order 66 i have the impression that you work in the IT department of a very simple company that never has IT problems more than a household would have

something like that?

Order 66 12-01-2013 11:20 PM

no i'm in design engineering. i'm supposed to be making drawings on CAD and alot of them don't have deadlines so i'm able to get away with doing pretty much nothing

Trotskilicious 12-01-2013 11:27 PM

i'm good at nothing and i'm 'so smart' but nobody wants to teach me how to do anything but crap

i have to pay someone else money to move on

fuck you obama

so it's one of those no one knows how to do what you do so they assume what you do takes forever when you're really doing nothing type things?

that is a factor. but mainly they don't keep track of what i'm working on and they're concerned with asinine things so i kind of fall through the cracks. i seriously question whether they know i exist sometimes

every now and then we'll get a big contract and i'll have to haul ass. and sometimes they put me on the shop floor to help the technicians and i'll have to get my hands dirty. so it isn't always cushy

Bread Regal 12-02-2013 12:57 AM

take out a shitload of private loans and get an MBA through university of phoenix

at least you know exactly what you do and can explain it to someone in a sentence

reprise85 12-02-2013 03:19 AM

that is a good point.

im supposed to move to customer service where i'll get the honor of dealing with people screaming at me more often, western union, lottery tickets, counting 50k a day, dealing with people scam-returning things n stuff, and tons of other fun stuff. for the same pay. and did i mention if you're over or short $20+ three times in 6 months you get suspended for a week, which literally happens to everyone who works over there since they deal with so much money and share cash drawers even though you're not supposed to?

i can't fucking wait until january. school mon-thurs, work tues/wed nights and weekends only holla

reprise85 12-02-2013 03:23 AM

oh but they do throw me ~$95 bonus 4x a year when they do inventory and 8 hours holiday pay

really im not complaining i need to stay under a certain amount so i'll get that disability cheese and be able to go to school for free

this month was hard, i tried to work it out but no reprise please work more please, oh here's two bonuses in one month im sure it'll be fine it's not like you lose all of your school funding if you're over for one month YES I WILL JACKASS. i ended up paying my therapist a higher fee to offset my extra money since i get to deduct disability related expenses. isnt that pretty hilarious.

done complaining. really its working out for me. without ticket to work this would be the rest of my life. in 10 years i'd be a customer service manager making 70k a year and 60 hours a week getting yelled at by a customer who insists she always gets whole milk when her WIC check says fat free no thank you

Trotskilicious 12-02-2013 03:50 AM

70 k a year, i think at this point i'd be lucky to make half that ever in my life

Cool As Ice Cream 12-02-2013 03:56 AM

half of that isn't that bad, is it?

Trotskilicious 12-02-2013 03:58 AM

i would have thought it was modest but at this point it seems patently unobtainable.

yes me too, but would it really be worth working in a grocery store for 60+ hours a week IN A GROCERY STORE listening to people complain about you not having their reduced fat wheat thins for two days in a row 100x a day and did i mention you'd be IN A GROCERY STORE FOR 60 HOURS A WEEK

fuck money, 70k is not worth having a job and being transferred every 1-2 years with a week's notice and working in a grocery story for 60+ hours scheduled plus whatever extra which is always a lot. i mean you could take good monetary care of a family you'd never see i guess

reprise85 12-02-2013 04:08 AM

also no set schedule, work every holiday except thanksgiving and christmas w/ no holiday pay cause you're salaried

reprise85 12-02-2013 04:12 AM

wal mart moves in next door and you get to cut everyone's hours by 25% and watch everyone go crazy figuring out how to feed their kids, and corporate's idea is to send in some honcho to move around the coke machines and put a bigger sign out for the free cookie club, i mean really fuck that SHIT (this happened at my store)

make everyone work at the job class above their official one but only promote two people a year, maybe a few more if people get mad enough to quit. salary CAP FUCKING CAP for part time cashiers is $10.65/hr and the CAP FUCKING CAP for full time is 12.25 what the shit is that

It really isn't. If I didn't fuck that up 35k is something like € 2150 a month. That's not bad at all.

Cool As Ice Cream 12-02-2013 04:28 AM

well, i wasn't really taking those 60+ hours into account. i was thinking about the regular 9 to 5 job, with no more than 40 hours per week, ever.

pavementtune 12-02-2013 04:35 AM

Do you have a regular 40-hour week in Belgium or the funny 38.5?

reprise85 12-02-2013 04:44 AM

most you can make as a cashier where i work is approx $25k, 40 hours a week. and that will take at least 6 years with perfect performance reviews and then you are stuck there. and you must be available from 6:30am to 12:30am every day, you can request days off but for the most part you will be scheduled whenever they damn please

Cool As Ice Cream 12-02-2013 04:47 AM

dunno. doesn't it depend on where you work? i get paid for 37 hours, for example. (i have to work 39, but every month i get an extra day off, in return. so i have 32 days off per year, instead of 20.)

Cool As Ice Cream 12-02-2013 05:44 AM

other people must have other contracts. 38, 38.5, 39, 40, i think it all exists.
