me too. the guy is miserable. but I think he's handsome and a gummi bear at heart. some of his songs are cool as shit though. Stan Kim medicine ball none of the anthem shit. A lot of family drama this year... and being that I'm far away from it, I decided to keep it that way. So it's gonna be a nice, peaceful, relaxing, fun dinner... and I'm cooking it all :cool:

Just finished making pumpkin and cherry pies, and put the bird in the oven... time for bed. :cry:

the wife and i had out own little thanksgiving last night. just us, a tofurkey, mashed sweet potatoes and some spinach.

now we have to divvy up our day between our two families. we've been married for two years and our families, who live in the same city mind you, have not met each other yet.

i don't mind my family so much because this year it's just my parents and my grandmother. the tension between my mother and her mother is the only thing we need to watch out for, and ever since my mom stopped drinking it's been much less of a problem. however in other years, it gets tense when we bring my extended family into it because they're a bunch of bourgeois pricks who work in finance that literally love talking shit about poor people at the dinner table.

the wife's family is also ok, if you avoid discussing anything of actual consequence. they are opinionated, and quite frankly kind of stupid. they look down on the wife and me for having chosen to go to college, especially for such "useless" things like math and social work. the kids on her side are awesome though and we find we spend most of the time with them playing halo or call of duty or whatever.

i definitely sympathize with everyone who has to deal with an awful family on this day.

I love Thanksgiving, my favorite of all the holidays.

well, it's only going to be me, my aunt, my mom and her boyfriend, so things should be fine. the three of us will sit outside and my mom will talk shit about my dad and other family members (mostly dead people) while her bf stays inside and watches football.

I really don't want to go to my family's house because they're all crazy christians and they'll be talking about their crazy christian beliefs and I much rather go with my friend and her husband to this Thanksgiving thing at some saloon (kind of trashy, I know) but, I know if I go I'll be so bored and want to get away from them I'll have no choice but to write these papers that are long overdue so yeah, whatever.

Do they refer to them as "those poor people"?

I found the booze here at my uncle in laws I think I can survive this.
