NFL 2013 Season Thread

Didn't see one on the first page.

What a fucking joke with this delay.

Kreatorkind 09-05-2013 09:08 PM

Chicago Bears will win their division and make it to at least the second round of the playoffs... my prediction is now on record!

Mo 09-05-2013 10:06 PM

Fucking hell, you Americans have to deal with a lot of commercials...
That Wendy's ad. UGH.

Go Broncos!

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:18 PM

yeah it's awful but you know most of them keep acting like not putting ads on jerseys is some kind of defiant act of purity

i've decided i'll definitely trade ads on jerseys for two 45 minute halves of uninterrupted play

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:19 PM

nba is kicking around ideas about putting ads on jerseys and again, i'd support it but i rather doubt i'm going to get 12+ minutes of uninterrupted basketball

Mo 09-05-2013 10:21 PM

The commentators have to plug stuff live on the air? And three things in a row? DirectTV, Wendy's and that Formula 1 movie?

What a lame fucking fumble.

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:23 PM

yes are you not familiar with american sports broadcasting whatsoever

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:23 PM

i mean this isn't even new

Mo 09-05-2013 10:28 PM

Sorry. The few times a year I watch American sports it's usually on some German-speaking channel (naturally), I just bought a week-long NFL Game Pass for the season kickoff this time.

Looks like Manning is pretty much back on form.

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:30 PM

what do you mean back on form he was fantastic last year

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:30 PM

i mean despite a bunch of armchair experts thinking he's a "choke artist" he's one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time

Banana 09-05-2013 10:48 PM

Still looks like he has horrendous arm strength though. But that appears to just be the post neck surgeries Manning, so much for the talk that he has gotten his arm strength back leading into this season.

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:55 PM

yeah i mean espn is experts and if they think a 37 year old man is gonna get his arm strength "back" what is science to argue?

i mean these are the same experts that declared no one could ever replace brett favre and you should hold on to him as long as you can and they were so right about that one, you know?

espn is the best. they just spit nothin but wisdom, word.

Trotskilicious 09-05-2013 10:58 PM

Players whose career was of similar quality and shape:

Career: Johnny Unitas*, Joe Montana*, Dan Marino*, Ken Anderson, Steve Young*, Dan Fouts*, Brett Favre, John Elway*, Roger Staubach*, Jim Kelly*

fantasy football off with a bang

Mo 09-06-2013 01:29 AM

He threw seven in the end.

Trotskilicious 09-06-2013 03:00 AM

hopefully decker was the recipient

Trotskilicious 09-06-2013 03:02 AM

i hate football

duovamp 09-06-2013 06:56 AM

Christ. I turned it off at 5 td passes.

starting brian hartline: the right call

Banana 09-08-2013 04:28 PM

That fucking Bucs defender.

Such an absurd amount of bonehead plays all around the league this week 1.

Tchocky 09-08-2013 04:35 PM

The Lions...jeez Louise. Such a schizophrenic team. At least Reggie Bush seems like he's legit. Develop some consistency, cut down on the dumb penalties, this team could be something special.

I'm Hardcore 09-09-2013 05:21 AM

fuck. a lot of fucks

typical fucking Giants. Old Tom was right - that was just sloppy football. On the flip side - is that all you've got Dallas? NY were awful, and you only just managed to beat us.

really potent offense, scored 30+ without Calvin doing anything of note.

Lavonte David- shame as he had a monster game until this mental Hiroshima. The Bucs continue to find new ways to hurt and shame me. Josh Freeman is so weak mentally it's disgusting and we have nobody to push him. Shit, VY looked decent for GB in the preseason. At this point, I wouldn't mind bringing him in the fold just to have Freeman looking over his shoulder.

Provided he stays healthy, Bush appears to be the missing piece of this offense. Now opposing defenses can't just triple-team Megatron all game, because Detroit has a legitimate RB that can make defenses pay for over-committing to the pass. Hell, Nate Burleson even snared a few clutch passes. Obviously it's just one game, so I don't want to get ahead of myself, but the Lions will make some noise if their offense can keep this up. Defensively, they did a reasonable job, 78-yard Adrian Peterson TD aside. It is worth mentioning that Detroit did hold AP to under 100 rushing yards.

As for Ndamukong Suh...*shakes head* At least the Lions won.

Banana 09-09-2013 06:43 PM

Fucking pumped for tonight's game. I think we lose because our defense is going to be horrendous this season but it should be an entertaining shootout.

duovamp 09-09-2013 07:14 PM

I've heard good things about the Eagles O. I'd like to see Mike Vick with a Super Bowl ring, just because he's a fucking piece of trash. Wsup den.

duovamp 09-09-2013 07:23 PM

And then that happened. Let me hear your wails of referee victimization, Philadelphians.

TuralyonW3 09-09-2013 08:52 PM

Rusty fuckin offense for Washington

hnibos 09-09-2013 09:10 PM

Overrated Griffin/awful Shanahan.

sppunk 09-09-2013 09:42 PM

Washington should hire Manny Diaz, he'd be an improvement.

Eulogy 09-09-2013 09:55 PM

Well hey

MusicMan4 09-09-2013 09:57 PM

the jets won a game by one point
maybe i should start paying attention to this sport again

The Omega Concern 09-09-2013 11:56 PM

bout to find out who the best team in the league is early on...this sunday night.

The Omega Concern 09-10-2013 12:05 AM

Here's one:

How many times does Pete Carroll have to beat Jim Harbaugh to make up for the first time they coached against each other when USC was a 41 point favorite and lost to Stanford? lol.
