epic multi-media meltdown

Amy's Baking Company, Scottsdale, AZ

Friday they were on Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, and it's an experience to be relished if you love seeing service industry train wrecks.

One of the most insane things I've ever seen starts around 5:05...and progresses to become a meltdown to rival chernobyl from there

and then the internet trolls roused from their collective bridges and bombed their yelp and facebook

(if you didn't watch the entire kitchen nightmares, this is in reference to the fact that she says, and I quote "WE HAVE THREE CHILDREN BUT THEY ARE IN CAT BODIES.")

http://www.buzzfeed.com/ryanhatesthi...-facebook-ever

you are all pussies. my wife is the jewel in the desert.

"YOU PAY AND GO"

'but we didn't even get anything"

"CALL THE COPS"

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 10:53 PM

i like when he looks like he's going to hit that one guy too

i should also mention that there is a local news story from 2010 about a bad yelp review, in which Amy goes totally crazy both in the response and on TV that is kind of a prelude to all of this/proof that they weren't really acting up for cameras. you can find it on youtube i am too lazy.

n/m i can't find the original bad yelp review and most of everything on the yelp page is from today/made up

Eulogy 05-14-2013 10:53 PM

i watched all of this. holy shit.

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 10:56 PM

Comment from Samy b. of Amy's Baking Company 4/4/2011 « Hide

First of all, we know that you are lying and that you have never been to our restaurant. Just because we stand up to people that are lying and trying to place slanderous fake reviews against us that does not make us bullies.
Bullying is a form of abuse. It involves repeated acts over time attempting to create or enforce one person's (or group's) power over another person (or group) , thus an "imbalance of power".[1] The "imbalance of power" may be social power and/or physical power. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a target. Bullying types of behavior are often rooted in a would-be bully's inability to empathize with those whom he or she would target.
And get your facts straight. This is Samy not Amy so if you have a problem I suggest you take it up with me and leave my wife out of it. If this continues I am going to report you to the Police and to Yelp for Harassment .Talk about being a sad little person.

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 11:02 PM

Kara M., Scottsdale AZ: 6. Another two of the ladies shared the squash ravioli and it was $22 for FOUR ravioli. They were flat little ravioli. They were perturbed, asked the server if he was serious and he was like, "YES! This is a million dollar restaurant!" What? Ok, but 4 ravioli?

Samy/Amy (pretty sure "Samy" is a portmanteau): I was sure you would "find" your way to YELP after leaving. Perhaps next time you should all order your own entrée if one is not large enough to share. Perhaps you were hot because you were dressed like it was winter outside. The restaurant was 75 degrees. I apologize that you did not enjoy your experience, and the meal did not come with all you can eat bread. Perhaps in the future a better bet for you would be the Olive Garden. I hear they have all you can eat bread sticks and salad....MEOW

these are from 2011-2010

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 11:03 PM

make sure to get the é in entree since it's so fancy right

duovamp 05-14-2013 11:06 PM

Just watched it. They seemed pretty open to improvement.

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 11:09 PM

this is one of the best things i've ever seen on the internet

except for the yelp troll reviews, that's just fuckin weak

JokeyLoki 05-14-2013 11:10 PM

These people are completely insane. I hadn't seen old yelp reviews... I thought maybe they were playing it up for the camera, but they really are that batshit crazy O_o

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 11:11 PM

like how do you make gordon ramsey look like a guy that's completely lovely and nice

i mean i know a lot of people hate him but the stuff i've seen before KN and Hell's Kitchen he's one of those really demanding often overbearing and sometimes mean guys that also knows how to be constructive and positive and rewards good work. basically he's exactly the kind of boss that you need and want in a kitchen

there's really nothing to be gained from that and besides i mean, i wouldn't want people to know that as a chef i can only work on one ticket at a time. that's one of those little details that i don't think people mugging for cameras would deliberately do. that's like complete and utter failure at being a commercial cook.

Attention whores are usually complete idiots... Don't try to bring logic into this.

sppunk 05-14-2013 11:42 PM

Gotta be acting, right? Hoping for a reality show or something?

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 11:43 PM

the history of crazy goes back to 2010 read thread plz

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 11:44 PM

is it really that hard to believe that a narcissistic woman with some kind of personality disorder would marry a 70 year old dude and convince him to open a restaurant with her even though he's (possibly) a former mobster with an anger management problem and she's just completely fucked in the head?

D. 05-14-2013 11:45 PM

Now they're using the ol' "we were hacked" standby excuse.:dammit:

Trotskilicious 05-14-2013 11:48 PM

working with the FBI, even.

it doesn't help that she writes exactly like she talks

that was my first thought.

"next season on couples therapy with dr drew..."

Trotskilicious 05-15-2013 12:13 AM

well now they will, probably

this is a chicken or the egg question and i'm not sure to call you cynics or people who believe humans are basically good

Trotskilicious 05-15-2013 12:14 AM

humans are basically scum

sppunk 05-15-2013 12:15 AM

Humans suck for sure, but they almost seem too amped up and delusional.

Trotskilicious 05-15-2013 12:16 AM

so how do you explain all the pre 5/14/13 stuff

they got on local news in 2010 for cussing out a customer on yelp and it read like a particularly wobbly flame from someone who snapped on netphoria

i mean we've seen that here before, i don't think real crazy can be faked

Read any of the reviews that have been written about us and you will see that EVERYONE loves us!! The only people that don't is our "Competition". We knew you had been sent by another restaurant before you even ordered your $14.00 Pizza.

The Pizza was fresh and amazing. The reason the tomatoes had different texture was because I use three different heirloom tomatoes and some of them are sundried. So of course they are going to have a different texture from the fresh ones!!!
But perhaps you are only accustomed to tasting the ones that come "fresh from the can!"

Moving on to the "Store bought Dough" Comment. PLEASE!! My dough is made fresh every day from 100% organic ingredients. Perhaps your palate is not sophisticated enough to tell the difference.

As for you having the Patio all to yourself unless you have been living on another PLANET it is summertime in ARIZONA MORON!!! Only TRAMPS and LOSERS want to sit outside in 110 temperatures!!!!
We are hiring because we are so busy that we need to hire more people. You just so happened to come right after a huge rush. And the people did not change their mind for the Margarita Pizza they ordered. They were still enjoying their amazing Caesar salad and I thought perhaps you would appreciate not having to wait so long for your pizza. Which was just coming out of the OVEN.

I am the CHEF and the owner, and I am the one that made your Pizza.

As for the no smoking comment everyone knows that it is against the LAW to smoke within 20 feet of a public place. But perhaps you think you are above the LAW. Have a little respect not everyone wants to subject themselves to being around second hand smoke.

And as for the overpriced menu items if you think that $12.00 is too much for an ENTRÉE sized ORGANIC Salad or $14.00 is too much for an AMAZING Pizza then perhaps you should go to the PITA JUNGLE that is just a stone's throw away. And if you get lucky maybe you can even dig up someone up to take with you so you can share a $5.00 Falafel.
Do US a favor and keep your ugly face and you ugly opinions to yourself and go back to the restaurant that you really work at!!

I would LOVE for anyone who reads this review to come to ABC and try our Pizza. If you don't like it then I guarantee you don't have to pay for it.

sppunk 05-15-2013 12:20 AM

Yeah that early stuff does throw a wrench in that thought. Regardless they're psychotic people who should never run anything. Ever.

"My three sons are wrapped in cat bodies."

Trotskilicious 05-15-2013 12:22 AM

like how many times on here have we seen someone totally lose their fucking mind because of jokes at their expense. These people were getting bad reviews on Yelp and they lost their shit.

this is no different except cameras were there and suddenly everything's staged. please.

Am I a horrible person for the fact that I kind of like him?

Trotskilicious 05-15-2013 01:12 AM

i like him too, he is the best kind of chef you could ask for and that's just how people in the kitchen are. brutally honest, needling, annoying, dismissive, insulting, basically intentionally trying to make you bust your top to gauge how good you are under pressure. Lot of guys get this part but fewer still get the warmth and positive encouragement that he brings to the table. Honestly he reminds me a lot of an ideal coach. He's going to give you a hard time, sure, but that makes the "good job" that is coming if you truly deserve it all the more rewarding and meaningful.

Well it seems they're religious fanatics, which helps explain things a bit

I read somewhere that it could be a money laundering operation for the Joe Pesci guy

Trotskilicious 05-15-2013 02:04 AM

yeah but how smart would it be to showcase your operation headed by your severely mentally ill much younger wife on national televison if that were true

and no, they aren't religious fanatics. she just likes to talk about god a lot. it's part of the denial mechanism(s). you know "I'm blessed and god gave me talent and therefore everything i do is great and everyone else is stupid." More of a crutch than devoutness.

Mo 05-15-2013 02:33 AM

That Samy dude did threaten Ramsey several times with phrases like "I'm a gangster". What a wuss.

killtrocity 05-15-2013 02:42 AM

hahaha. Watching the whole thing now. What a sad pair of individuals.

Cool As Ice Cream 05-15-2013 03:21 AM

i'm looking forward to watch this.

Cool As Ice Cream 05-15-2013 03:23 AM

i quickly checked the bit after 5:05 and it looks amazing.

Starla 05-15-2013 04:08 AM

They should put Amy on mob wives. She's crazier than Rene.

I had a cook at a Mexican restaurant make a nasty comment at me once. I ordered huevos over cheese enchiladas, without the habanero sauce. It came back with a ton of sauce on it, so I sent it back and asked them nicely to please fix it. The cook yelled "Why do people come to eat in a Mexican restaurant if they won't eat hot food?" The waitress acted offended too, and never came back to give me a refill or my ticket.

I can only hope that when I'm 70 I can afford to buy a woman like that.

duovamp 05-15-2013 08:25 AM

I'd like to throw some old man batter on her face.
