please, tell us more Omega

pavementtune 04-15-2013 08:49 PM

Can't wait for the London marathon.

Bread Regal 04-15-2013 08:52 PM

i haven't had a tv in my house in at least 3 years so i forgot how truly fucking horrible cable news is in situations like this.

the wife and i went for dinner at the sushi bar down the street and they had CNN on which was replaying that same goddamn footage of the explosions on loop for just about the entire duration of my meal while talking heads blindly speculated about things going on and newly minted title cards bookended every segment.

it just annoyed me is all.

Bread Regal 04-15-2013 08:52 PM

also, omega concern can get fucked.

Toast 04-15-2013 08:53 PM

Looks like another bomb went off in this guy's shorts

sppunk 04-15-2013 09:19 PM

:( This is horrific. All my family and friends are OK - Sepiae included. Thank God.

I'm in sort of shock.

sppunk 04-15-2013 09:19 PM

OC, also, SHUT THE FUCK UP or I'll do it for you. Go away.

duovamp 04-15-2013 09:20 PM

Some pretty obnoxious posts in this thread. So cool.

good.

i know a lot of people with connections to boston, and they have all expressed that everyone they know is ok.

the number of deaths, while obviously sad, is still pretty impressive, given the pictures i saw.

and a friend of mine heard some alex jones false flag shit. fuck billy corgan.

this is terrifying. i got on the metro right after i heard about this, and tbh i felt a little weird doing it. this is sad.

pisses me off real bad too, homie

omega concern has some pretty wacky thoughts and ideas, but i don't think that means he's obligated to post them elsewhere cause you say so (whoever has told him to go away). you ain't all that.

so far this thread and that gruesome photo and link have been my only news on this subject. i only know a couple people in bean town and i saw their posts all over facebook, so they're fine. and i, too, am surprised at the small amount of people to die.

this sort of thing just makes being outside so scary.

I just heard at running group on Saturday that a member of our group was running in the Boston marathon and then heard about it this morning during the hourly news broadcast on the radio in the car. Surreal. I won't hear any more about the runner until Saturday. I hope they're ok :(

Martin Richard was standing near the finish line, waiting for his father to complete the grueling Boston Marathon on Monday, when an explosion took his life. He was 8 years old and in the third grade.
Quote:

Martin's mother, Denise, was hospitalized with "grievous injuries," The Times of London reported. She reportedly underwent surgery late Monday for an injury to her brain.

His 6-year-old sister, a first grader whose name was not made public, lost her leg in the blast, WHDH reported.
Anyone here ever been to marathon Monday in Boston? It's astounding more people were not injured/killed... I don't think there is a busier day in Boston with more dense crowds. It's a holiday most have off work... Not only do people go for the marathon but it is basically Boston's largest drinking holiday and the only day where it is widely accepted to start drinking at 8am. There is a Sox game during the day and usually a Bruin's game at night. It's like what a playoff game would draw for a crowd in that not only is the stadium sold out but every bar has a line wrapped around the buildings. Every street, store, bar, and subway is stuffed with people.

Whoever did this obviously chose the finish line because that is where every major news camera is and where the main focus is on, unless it was a personal vendetta and not a national statement... It's just that the time they chose was way later in the race with a much smaller crowd than if they had done it earlier, but then again maybe they didn't choose the time and it was more of a window of opportunity idk.

3 dead, 150+ injured is the official count. So far everyone I know that went to or ran in the marathon is ok, and all my booze bag friends that went to the sox game or drank at the surrounding bars are as well... many places got evacuated. Bruins game was postponed , and they cancelled the celtics game (that was supposed to be tonight) yesterday as well. Really quiet in Boston today. Dudes with m-16 standing around public transit.

My brother worked on that same block at a restaurant called Stephanie's, but on the Newbury street side. I've been there several times, so it's just surreal to watch this all on tv. Disturbed that they still can't seem to figure out who's responsible, but I needs more time I guess.

:(

Sarcastic Smile 04-16-2013 12:18 PM

Ugh a news anchor said earlier in the initial raw reports something like "Witnesses saw a man who was a Saudi nation running away from the blast suspiciously (then went on to say he was tackled and detained)" - The second I heard that I looked up around at the customers at work and thankfully they had the same "what a retarded statement" look on their faces

so suspicious running away from the bomb site, that kind of behavior must have been alarming...

*awaits Omega posting a guy with his head in the sand as a reply to being threatened with muting/banning*

Tchocky 04-16-2013 12:40 PM

Trotskilicious 04-16-2013 12:40 PM

most of the provided evidence points to unhinged domestic nutjob rather than a coordinated terrorist plot

and by provided evidence i mean:
high risk event with heightened security (rather than rush hour public transport bombings and other low risk/high yeild targets favored by islamic terriorist organizations)
bombs that did not detonate correctly and failed to damage buildings, or cause large numbers of dead (points to a lone amateur rather than a terrorist organization)
also the fact that security was heightened and the bomber got in points to white male "invisibility" as it were
its positioning near the flags makes me suspect some kind of UN world government/global socialism conspiracist
oh yeah and the newtown dedication, "Patriots Day" in Boston, Boston's primacy in American popular historical legend etc

of course this is all irresponsible speculation

That's the report going around, there are even photos on twitter of police arresting the guy in Copley square. They also went to this guys apartment in revere last night to search, but Boston police are now saying they don't think he's responsible. That made me sick too.

Order 66 04-16-2013 12:42 PM

we need to start a betting pool. i've got $20 on him being white

Trotskilicious 04-16-2013 12:44 PM

i saw briefly a "terrorism expert" on the 700 Club talking about how all the evidence supports Islamofascist terrorism

he used examples like "used multiple bombs" which is apparently trademarked by Al Qaeda Inc

i turned it off before throwing the television out of the window in a fit of rage

Trotskilicious 04-16-2013 12:45 PM

perhaps it's because it occured at a sporting event but it reminds me of the 96 Atlanta bombings which were made by a global socialism cospiracist/anti abortion domestic nutjob (using multiple bombs i might add)

MyOneAndOnly 04-16-2013 12:46 PM

christian terrorists use only one bomb

MyOneAndOnly 04-16-2013 12:47 PM

when they blow up family planning clinics.

MyOneAndOnly 04-16-2013 12:47 PM

but they're not terrorists because they follow the correct god
