Is it wrong to befriend an oldster so they will leave you something in their will?

if the old person actually gains something from your friendship, i'd say it's ok. as long as you don't secretly hate the "oldster" / lie to them and spend time with them for the sole reason of acquiring money

The elderly don't really offer much else to anyone, so why else would you befriend one? It would be mutually beneficial since his/her family probably never calls and he/she is most likely terribly lonely.

I'd love to befriend an old fellow who pays me to masturbate in front of him. But I'd have to figure out with my accountant how to put that on my taxes.

As long as you don't try to kill them to speed up the process, nah.
