i mean when you meet up with the actual fact of someone being raped, anyone, it is really hard to wish that on someone - but regardless:

i think there's this kind of idea, that you want the rapist to suffer as much has he made his victim suffer. but i don't think that's possible. i dont think, for example, jerry sandusky will ever feel as bad as the child he anally raped in the shower. so at that point the punishment of rape is just an empty wish, because even if it did happen you wouldn't feel any better and nothing will have changed

I don't like to think a lot about rape. This thread was about a rapist (or at least conspirator to rape), and then you spoke in a way that comes across that you hope he gets assaulted in jail, and people said some shit, and I asked you to clarify which you refuse to do.

I mean good thing the people who are victims of crime don't get to assess penalties because there would be a whole lot more capital punishment and rapes of rapists and etc.

Again there are different terms intermingled here, you can want them to suffer, and feel that emotionally, while intellectually knowing more suffering is not the answer. But that's just what I think. I am asking you what you think because I am curious and you don't seem to want to answer.

I used to work with a guy who did this same thing youre doing right now. Express an illogical/hateful/naive/ or ignorant opinion and, when I'd disagree with him or show him how he was wrong, he'd start backpedaling and say "we'll i didn't specifically use that one exact word so therefore you can't say what I meant." Or he'd ask red herring questions instead of outright answering or clarifying. Eventually everyone in the office stopped talking to him because it's like playing Monopoly with someone who is playing by the rules of Candy Land.
