Self compassion is a huge thing too. You have to have more compassion for yourself ilp. i dont really disagree with you but someone in the midst of addiction, even someone who is ending it, isn't thinking like this and ime it just frustrated me when people said shit like this

I'm an addict in recovery, an abuse survivor and I just tried to distill 15 years of therapy into two instructions for ilp because she seems unable or not ready to go into therapy herself.

Also, let her speak for herself. If you have something to say, just say it. And don't bother tacking the offense, but...on the front if it.

its funny, all the stuff we all talk about on here and this is what people have grabbed onto as something "crazy" "get real" etc

i guess some things should be left in therapy

Yeah it kinda seems that way doesn't it. Oh well too late. At least people believe you're a real person!

You were right to be a bitch, probably. I did sound like a bad self help book. That's what I'm working on now but 10 years ago a wouldn't have listened to any of that.

that would sure be something. I have that level of residual psychosis where I can just about imagine that it's true. It's kind of like that movie Identity. I loved that movie.
