no not at all.

im sorry, it's pretty hard to explain. i mean emotionally.

reprise85 11-27-2012 02:42 AM

pretty sure when you have a prolonged death you accept it in that moment. and if it's instant there's no time to freak out. either way you should be ok. i know it sounds scary but i do believe you come to terms with it quickly once it's happening.

pavementtune 11-27-2012 03:25 AM

Prolonged death? Like the last 2 days dying of Aids or cancer?

Also let's say suicide by hanging or drowning - you're not coming to terms with or accept it - suvival instinct kicks in and you're going down fighting.

reprise85 11-27-2012 03:27 AM

yeah... suicide is something else

but i think accidental drowning, you prob come to terms with it

i dont know, i had a dream once where i IRL couldnt breathe because of asthma and i came to peace with it but it was a dream and i didnt die soo

from what i've seen of cancer they did come to terms with it, doesnt mean it wasn't 'ugly' so to speak or they weren't scared

pavementtune 11-27-2012 03:35 AM

Accidental drowning - survival instinct - you need to breathe - sooner or later your mouth will open - you swallow water - you're trying to get to the surface - your lungs hurt - you struggle and fight - you lose consciousness.

kelsome 11-27-2012 03:41 AM

nvm.

reprise85 11-27-2012 03:42 AM

obviously it hurts, but you dont think you accept at all what is happening to you?

reprise85 11-27-2012 03:43 AM

i mean i dont know what im talking about i guess but i dont really fear death

pavementtune 11-27-2012 03:50 AM

I think that acceptance requires a bit of rational thinking and that the survival instinct is somehow stronger. Otherwise why would someone who made the decision to hang himself struggle instead of let go?
Drowning...maybe. A mix of giving up/letting go/acceptance the second before you pass out. I can only speak for myself, I guess not all people drown in the same way. ;)

No, you don't, lady kelsome. I seriously agreed.
My plans / mind games how I'd kill myself never went as far as how I'd kill someone else.
I guess I scored pretty high on the sociopath scale back then.

noyen 11-27-2012 04:23 AM

death is peaceful. a few minutes of pain is nothing compared to the lifetime leading up to it or a few thousand sleepless nights. those guys who set themselves on fire are having the greatest highs of their life.

Damn, this happened to you? Glad you're okay

reprise85 11-27-2012 06:28 PM

^ shit i didnt realize, im sorry

pavementtune 11-27-2012 07:20 PM

Don't be, it happened already 3 years ago, so I don't get upset anymore. Strange thing is, I always loved the ocean and being in the water in general, but since then I actually feel nowhere safer and more peaceful than I do while holding my breath and diving. Doesn't make any sense.
