Quote: Terrorism is a term for a specific action used to achieve a military goal.

Huh? Is that what you get at your college when you formally study terrorism? Or is that your personal definition, rbg?

i love that the validity of their concern hinges on whether you agreed with it. But since its not an issue i care about really lets say you thinking everythings cool means they're liars, and the AP writer is a fool. So then-even giving you that-(and really more to the point) you still didnt know about it, you didnt even try looking it up. so then you tell trots "like instead of maybe looking into what the decision says, you just take pot shots." so that made me all http://forums.netphoria.org/wwwboard/icons/icon10.gif and here we are

New rules allow investigators to hold domestic-terror suspects longer than others without giving them a Miranda warning, significantly expanding exceptions to the instructions that have governed the handling of criminal suspects for more than four decades.

I assume that as a citizen of America if at any time I'm suspected of terrorist activities, then I can be questioned without my miranda rights. Before they made it a law, they were already doing this anyway.

WASHINGTON — The Federal Bureau of Investigation has instructed agents to interrogate suspected “operational terrorists” about immediate threats to public safety without advising them of their Miranda rights to remain silent and to have an attorney present.

You better hope you are never detained due to mistaken identity and told you cannot phone your lawyer. I'd like to know what tactics they employ if someone refuses to speak.

You can easily be rounded up... and accused of something you didn't do. In this country, you should get miranda rights and your one phone call no matter what the charges.

I admitted I was uninformed. Then I got informed. That's how this should work.
