good article

Well that was a boring way to tell me something I learned in Epistemology 101.
|
I think the more interesting point is that it appears human can't live with that conclusion; to interact with others and "function", have a job, etc. We have to adopt some kind of working hypothesis, ultimately based on nothing stable. But go ahead and tell all the "rational atheists" that.

Pretty sure she's thought about it much more than you.
|
There are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know.

and even if so, doesn't mean that's not a moronic statement |
Don't engage.

I really fucking shouldn't.
they've obviously thought about these issues more than me and would have the upper hand |

Go on then, enlighten me and work out a logical, deductive proof that God (or E.T., I don't care) does not exist. You'd be the first in the history of philosophy, can't wait to see it.
"None of us would seriously consider the possibility that all the gods of Homer really exist, and yet if you were to set to work to give a logical demonstration that Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, and the rest of them did not exist you would find it an awful job. You could not get such proof." Bertrand Russell, what a moron, right? |
and yet Bertrand Russell came to atheism as a rational conclusion. go fucking figure

I agree with her. Have you read anything philosophical or theological apart from Dawkins and Hitchens? Whose work I don't really classify as either. |
jesus Christ I've barely read any Hitchens and no Dawkins. quit casting aspersions based on nothing. i've read all kind of fucking things, including plenty of philosophy, but that need not even factor into this conversation...I can think for myself, thank you.
and pavementtune if you're asking me to deduct a logical proof against something that doesn't exist then you don't understand why i'm calling you a moron |
And Russell filled books with thoughts on Agnosticism and Atheism - go fucking figure. I find it funny that you're not coming up with an actual argument that could become a non-judgdmental discussion, you just say "that's moronic". Uninteresting, have fun.
|
Why would what you've read on any given subject not have anything to do with a discussion on that subject.
You just sound like the typical Dawkins/Hitchens fundamentalists that have been spouting off everywhere lately. |
fuck why do I punish myself
according to you pavementtune rational conclusions don't exist can you give me an example of a rational conclusion you hold? |
