i think the show is now about 200 days or so since the zombie outbreak or whatever so its too early to tell in some cases. but in short, yes, many of the characters have changed alot.

and the violence is fairly sporadic. in fact one of the main criticisms of the show is 'alot of it is just people talking'... so its not some dudebro zombie show

what would be wrong with a show like that

Eulogy 10-26-2012 01:40 PM

my problem with the walking dead is that it tries to be a legit quality drama. and it doesn't have the story, writing, plot, or actors for that.

Order 66 10-26-2012 01:50 PM

it varies. i find the faults kind of hilarious personally. its like beyond camp sometimes

Banana 10-26-2012 06:51 PM

I like it how I liked Lost. You're going to have some awful acting and writing at times but it's still highly entertaining.

Banana 10-29-2012 12:41 AM

Another really good episode. This governor group is definitely going to war with the Rick group before the end of this season.

THIS SO MANY TIMES OVER

Banana 11-05-2012 08:29 PM

Last nights episode was legit great.

teh b0lly!!1 11-06-2012 07:36 AM

lori's farewell scene was atrocious

that was some inspirational bad acting

Order 66 11-08-2012 02:28 AM

is it clear that lady with the dyke haircut died?

dean_r_koontz 11-08-2012 03:00 AM

they shold have kept the green mile fellow on as a writer, losing him ruined the show.

pavementtune 11-08-2012 03:13 AM

They fired the creator and cut 1/3 of the budget during production. Straight way to ruin a show.

from what i remember she clearly ran away after t-dog got his line of the season
she'll probably be resurrected in a few episodes like merle

Banana 11-14-2012 01:14 AM

3rd season keeps on being great.

Rick has gone batshit insane and I don't see how he comes back down to earth from it.

teh b0lly!!1 11-14-2012 02:46 AM

gotta hand it to andrew lincoln for that scene where glenn tries to snap him out of it

probably the first time in the history of this show that the acting was legitimately great.
his eyes went completely vacant and he really did look like somebody who went through a harrowing experience

They're boring, redundant and of no consequence. How can I care about a character that is unaffected by the things that happen to him or her?

I love Gilligan's Island, but you know that none of the plot points will ever amount to anything and this makes the whole show kind of insipid. Gilligan's Island is funny, or at least when I was a kid it was funny, but for something like CSI where it's supposedly a "drama" and the characters and situations are completely static week in and week out, I just feel there are far better uses of time than watching a 45 minute story that you know is going to end up exactly where it started except maybe some heads get split open in the process and perhaps a two-dimensional character gets killed off but nobody really gives a shit on or off screen because none of the characters respond to situations in any way that could be construed as authentic.

There's nothing wrong with dumb fun and gore but it's not interesting to me at all, at least in the context of zombies.

Something like Kill Bill has gratuitous violence that only serves to entertain the audience and add a specific sense of style to the film, and furthermore cannot in any way be construed as realistic, but for me that's not the main draw of the film, it's the characters. Which is why Volume 2 > Volume 1

See this is more reason to watch than some 15 second clip of something grotesque happening to a human head. idk I'll rejoin the discussion when I've actually watched this

TuralyonW3 11-30-2012 02:38 AM

we finally caught up with this show to the current episode...i've been avoiding this spoiler-filled thread like the plague

TuralyonW3 11-30-2012 02:40 AM

the show is entertaining as fuck btw. pretty crazy how polarizing it is. i like the consistent atmosphere of dread and desperation that permeates everything.

it's not a fucking masterpiece but from a pulpy perspective (zombie apocalpse ahem) it pulls it off pretty fucking well.

kinda astounding to me how you "hate" all the characters

I thought season 2 was great

season 3 is more intense/action-oriented

Order 66 11-30-2012 02:44 AM

it kind of pissed me off how the governer is this super creep all of a sudden. i mean his whole operation is obvs shady but now its zomg super evil

michonne needs some xanax or something tired of looking at her furrowed eyebrows

Fattening Ass 11-30-2012 02:45 AM

the acting is pretty bad, but i still watch. good riddance to that stupid pregnant bitch. Bitch was useless the entire show

TuralyonW3 11-30-2012 02:45 AM

I mean I love Downton Abbey but it's certainly not any "deeper" than Walking Dead

Bitch is always with the pissy face. That govenor guy is really a creep, I don't get how that whole 'town' is all peaceful and shit and no one noticed what a weirdo he is, then again he prolly killed anyone who did

TuralyonW3 11-30-2012 02:48 AM

character's aren't supposed to be and behave exactly like you want them to

teh b0lly!!1 12-01-2012 12:49 PM

i didn't know this season was split in half two and was totally bummed out when i heard about it

plus, all the action in this season really masked how little really happened
like, get the fuck on with it

butthurt 12-03-2012 01:33 AM

A quality episode. Fun for the whole family.

TuralyonW3 12-03-2012 01:46 AM

they all are. it was last season and AMC does this with all of their shows that do not show re-runs.

vixnix 12-03-2012 06:56 PM

I don't know how anyone watches this show.

opera de nuit 12-03-2012 07:16 PM

it's easy! i'll walk you through it.

step 1: buy a tv
step 2: order a cable package that includes AMC
step 3: tune in every sunday night at 9pm

i mean, unless you're homeless or blind, you should be able to figure it out.
