One night in Bangkok

I'm in Bangkok. I have the worst jet lag ever. The flights over here took 22 hours. The old guy sitting next to me on the plane from Tokyo Kept suggesting I check out Thai ladyboys. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, a 60 year old investment banker flying solo to Thailand for the sex industry.

This city is cool though. Crowded. Hectic. Everybody is very friendly. Food is really cheap and good. Going outside the city tomorrow.

It's 3 am and I can't sleep.

Eulogy 10-18-2012 04:13 PM

jet lag fucking sucks.

Eulogy 10-18-2012 04:13 PM

you're leaving tomorrow..?

i can't tell if that will make it better or worse.

MyOneAndOnly 10-18-2012 04:22 PM

I arrived here in the middle of the night yesterday. Ill be here one more night than I fly to Paris Saturday morning. I don't think I'll be here long enough to catch up on sleep. I'm not getting home until a week from Saturday. 24 time zones in two weeks.

Eulogy 10-18-2012 04:34 PM

that sounds like hell

MyOneAndOnly 10-18-2012 04:48 PM

I thought this trip might be fun. But the time change is gonna wreck me.

pale_princess 10-18-2012 04:58 PM

one night in bangkok followed by 1 night in paris

MyOneAndOnly 10-18-2012 05:15 PM

Three nights in Paris. A couple of nights in Bilbao, Spain. Then Aberdeen, Scotland.

pale_princess 10-18-2012 05:20 PM

Wait so you were going to Bangkok for some non-ladyboy reason? This story already doesn't add up.

MyOneAndOnly 10-18-2012 09:51 PM

Business trip.

duovamp 10-18-2012 09:59 PM

"Business trip." ;)

vixnix 10-18-2012 10:28 PM

I have a family member through marriage who goes to Bangkok for sex. He's a really nice guy apart from that. Like, really nice. It's hard to put it all together, really.

vixnix 10-18-2012 11:44 PM

Nobody says anything except Ohhh Kay then, in a way that communicates that they find it gross and wouldn't do it themselves. They're pretty private people and not big on interfering in other people's lives. They lost my FIL when ge was young, in a boating accident and nobody's been the same since. But the other two siblings are married with grandchildren and definitely don't approve, his mother may she rest in peace wouldn't have either. But they're not the kind of family that discusses that stuff. They're farmers, very reserved and quiet and stoic for the most part.

Trotskilicious 10-19-2012 12:28 AM

scotty's company is investing heavily in thai sweatshops to produce their consumer goods that's why he's such a staunch and reliable democrat

But I'm still trying to talk a close friend of mine into using condoms, and have been trying for 14 years now. I don't feel that's interfering in his life. One of these days I'll just give up, I guess.

Oh they wouldn't listen to me anyway. Born and raised in town with a philosophy degree...to them I'm the epitome of a clueless idiot who doesn't know what they're talking about.

MyOneAndOnly 10-19-2012 09:49 AM

Srsly tho

It's possible for someone to have a career in business and not slot themselves into the stereotypical right wing mindset.

Dead Frequency 10-19-2012 10:42 AM

Is jet lag a physical type deal or mental type deal
