even though we celebrated halloween every year. |
Oh that's funny! My little boy was two weeks late, he was due on the 14th originally. I'm surprised you celebrated Halloween with your background...it's cool you did though. I don't know what will happen this year because we've made a lot of Christian friends already in this area and I'm not sure if they celebrate it or not.
I'm hankering for a horror movie marathon this year but I don't know anyone else who enjoys them apart from my husband and we watch them together all the time anyway lol. |
Yeah, y'know, my JW ex-boss was the same way - he was surprised we celebrated Halloween and were allowed to watch horror/violent movies but weren't allowed to dance, listen to secular music, or anything else fun.
our churche(s) had "autumn" celebrations which were basically excuses to gather and eat and snack on candy and pumpkin pie |

sinister may have contained the single most disturbing scene i've ever seen on film. subtle. the exactly correct amount of build-up and tension. you knew what was gonna happen but still whoooaaaaaa. no gore, even. but man. if you see it you'll probably know what i'm talking about.

OMG Sinisterrrrr.... I wanna see. Next weekend I'm gonna try to hit up that and Paranormal Activity 4 next weekendddd
edit: and V/H/S looks dope but it's only playing twice every other day or something at the art house/small run theater downtown |
this isn't what i'm talking about and it was in the trailers so no real spoiler. but this was another time when i knew exactly what was gonna happen and i still about lost my shit.
it was just really well done. |
i saw it on friday. really, really scary.

considering some sort of fucked up zipper face costume for this year (something like this). was treated to a VIP ticket for the barclays show so i'm going to try and scare some sense into mikey.

I'd like to tell Eulogy to go to hell for posting about Sinister. I watched the trailer to see what you guys were talking about and it freaked me out so much that I was afraid to walk around my apartment in the dark last night. :(

We took the kids to see Frankenweenie last night...creepy movie. The girl with that cat was so freaky!
|
I saw Sinister this weekend. Slow to start and was a little repetitive at first, but the payoff was terrific. I'm happy that Hollywood finally made a decent horror movie that actually tried to build a creepy unsettling atmosphere as opposed to relying on buckets of gore (i.e.: the Saw movies) and/or jump scares (i.e.: every Paranormal Activity movie since the first one). Solid B grade.
I'm dressing up as Rorschach from Watchmen for Halloween. |
Sinister was awful, holy shit.
About the only thing I enjoyed was the creepy music during the reel to reel killings. I also appreciated that SPOILER ALERT... That they die in the end and it wasn't some cheesy fight to survive omg! |
What should the wife and I be? Default is bee and beekeeper.
