Discussing Monte and your personal disdain or appreciation for him or his religion is not SP-related.

Sound good? Good.

dude just let it go.

Bahhhh, fully agree. That was one of the songs I was most looking forward to on this release. Guess we'll hopefully get it on Adore or Machina?

Kinda bummed that was already spoiled for me - but I guess I'd rather have that hope dashed NOW than when I threw in the disc and was hoping for it, only to get an early Iha version.

Grox 10-11-2012 11:43 AM

james sucks

So why the Iha tunes?

Surely BC wouldn't be petty enough to attempt to reappropriate LICD songs as Pumpkins songs. HMM

whywontyoulistn 10-11-2012 02:23 PM

This is probably his response to all the criticism he got for the "James is a piece of shit" stuff; "Oh, I don't get along with him personally, but I am a big enough man to put that aside and admit it when the music is that good blah blah aren't I wonderful/forgiving/mature (unlike that cunt die James die.)".

I think it's pretty clear that these LICD songs were left over MCIS songs that never made the album.

Now I see Billco's point on releasing them on MCIS reissue. "His solo album was composed of a couple turds too awful to be included on MCIS. Terrible person"

Some interview he did around the time Oceania came out, he claimed it was very hard for him to put these on the resissue due to his personal problems with James, but stated they were good songs and he said something along the lines of "it showed James did more than just sit and mope at the studio."

Although many of the songs on Iha's first solo album apparently date back to the early 1990s, I would not be surprised if, as Astur stated, that this is his way of saying that his songs were too shitty to make the final cut.

Rider 10-11-2012 06:21 PM

I'm all for bashing Billy but you guys can't have it both ways if he had left the songs off it would be he hates James and left all of his demos off, since the demos are on the album now you need to create all these crazy evil reasons he would ******* them.

I think he just wanted a somewhat complete record of where the band was at the time.

We know he hates Towers Of Rabble but he also included that.

Morning Tea: 03-X.Y.U. (Take 11)

The track has an angry and powerful live feel to it. It is not as polished as the take that ended up on Mellon Collie. Some additional lyrics by Billy are added as you will hear heard in the sample. The ending of the track has a slightly different death march but it’s just over 7 minutes of pure rock.

Idiot.

People who have talked to Monte in person.

Will things like "hear heard" pop out of his mouth when he is talking.

IWishIWasBlank 10-15-2012 08:57 PM

Excellent question. (WTF I can't say Plus 1?) even. Inquiring minds want to know.

I was editing what i wrote earlier and the "heard" was drooped into the 2nd line where I didn't notice it. I have removed it from the post already.

High Tea: 19-Chinoise (Sadlands demo)

This is an piano instrumental that is just a few seconds over a minute long. The track kind of sounds like it could of been the frame work to For Martha on Adore. Although the piano scales up much faster than on For Martha. Overall it is a very pretty and entrancing piano piece that unfortunately comes to an abruptly end.
lovely.

I will be posting about that on Monday. It's too good of a track just to write about it.

On Monday I will be posting a sample of MCIS (Nighttime Version). because just to explain it in writing would be unfair.

the descriptions are not making me want to buy this at all. a bunch of instrumental tracks and some slighty different versions of sons I hear a 10000000 times before. nice

That's actually one of a few tracks that caught my eye when the track listing was announced. That one and the rough vocal of Goodnight (I assume that's Farewell And Goodnight).

RenewRevive 10-17-2012 11:55 AM

MCIS (Nightmare version) = brickwalled to fuck!

Venom 10-17-2012 11:59 AM

The whole reissue's probably brickwalled, but I'm still curious about that one.

RenewRevive 10-17-2012 12:02 PM

we're talking about the track? i thought it was the album!

Nope Monte won't copy CDs from Bicorg.

krackhead 10-17-2012 09:48 PM

nirvana ripoff?

Venom 10-22-2012 01:35 PM

Well, the Nighttime version of MCIS is indeed an extended part of the reprise at the end of Ruby as I was hoping.
