Homeland? (also an emmy thread in case anyone gives a shit)

Why are they jizzing all over this thing? Is it because it's political in nature? Cause the president likes it? I'd never heard of it before tonight.

Christina deserved a win for that fucked up Jaguar episode. That gave me nightmares. Although I guess nobody can beat Maggie Smith :(

Mad Men apparently is not cool anymore. What's up with THREE writing nominations and not a single win? Isn't that, like really improbable, like mathematically?

This made me happy

Thought for sure Breaking Bad would get best drama this year. It's also kind of confusing cause Cranston's performance was better in season 4 than any of the previous ones. Guess he's made his point. The off year may also be a factor.

Who really fuckin cares though, right?

killtrocity 09-23-2012 11:26 PM

no dude he's black, no one care. Maybe if he played a gay dude or Sarah Palin

Eulogy 09-23-2012 11:28 PM

i do, you're racist.

killtrocity 09-23-2012 11:37 PM

nobody cares about black people anymore because Obama.

and racism is over

EyesOfAJackal 09-23-2012 11:45 PM

My roommate said the other day, and I quote, "I have no white guilt. I voted for Obama"

Order 66 09-23-2012 11:59 PM

the problem i had with homeland is, here's a guy who's been gone nearly a decade, presumed dead, and he returns to a household more or less intact? they were just like 'okay dad's back lol lets move on'... to be fair the situation becomes a trainwreck later but it seemed kind of hokey and i never finished season 1. its decent if you have nothing else to watch

killtrocity 09-24-2012 12:27 AM

I actually may have teared up a little

reprise85 09-24-2012 06:57 PM

pavementtune's some kinda bigshot

MusicMan4 09-24-2012 10:31 PM

i generally don't care but i wanted tyrion to win again
although from the books the 4th season of GoT should make him a shoo-in

killtrocity 09-24-2012 11:09 PM

Game of Thrones looks pretty sweet but there are so many other shows I need to watch first

redbreegull 09-25-2012 12:00 AM

I've never seen Homeland, but I've seen a lot of screen caps of Morena Baccarin's bare breasts

Trotskilicious 09-25-2012 12:00 AM

you're a true feminist

redbreegull 09-25-2012 12:02 AM

Dead Frequency 09-25-2012 07:54 AM

I thought tubman did help oppressed women?

Netphorian Gadabout 09-25-2012 12:08 PM

Homeland is excellent, and while I'm still a Mad Men fanboy, I thought Homeland was the second best thing on TV last year (yes, better than Breaking Bad).

That said, I cannot see how the second season could be anywhere near as good as the first one.

It took 4-5 episodes to really get fantastic. Also, I don't recall at all the "hey let's just move on" attitude from anyone other than the wife and that was clearly an attempt to cover up her SPOILERY SPOILERS.

pale_princess 09-25-2012 12:19 PM

i'm actually really REALLY shocked that the best supporting drama actor didn't go to jared harris or giancarlo esposito. aaron paul is absolutely delightful, though.

really wanted lena dunham for writing and comedy actress.

also,

and

amy poehler should definitely host the awards!

Trotskilicious 09-25-2012 01:43 PM

she'll just fawl to pieces when the sunlight touches her hair'd

pale_princess 09-25-2012 02:15 PM

not my favorite hairstyle on her but she is my hero and perfect.

Mo 09-25-2012 06:39 PM

I don't really care about the Emmys, I'm just a tiny bit bummed that both Sherlock and Luther got zilch.

Mo 09-25-2012 06:39 PM

Also, Jon Cryer getting an Emmy for Two And A Half Men?!

/His second Emmy for that show. Hahaha.

pale_princess 09-25-2012 07:12 PM

and he made history at that
first actor to win best actor and best supporting actor for playing the same character

:hanging:
