that thing that happened in maryland gave me nightmares

what terrifies me more than anything is serial killers. because. you can't really defend yourself from someone who kills for no fucking reason except they're sick. i mean i don't think the people who did that were serial killers because apparently police are looking for more than one culprit and generally serial killers work alone. but jesus christ. i had some weird dream involving random murders. yeah.

i posted about it yesterday but no one replied and it got lost in the old server!!!

Salena Child 10-04-2002 12:56 PM

yeah here a few months back there was a guy sneaking into peoples homes and taking there teenage girls. also there is a rapist running around the ohio state campus :(

nothing scares me more than serial killers. nothing. the fact that there are people out there who *seem* charming and nice but really aren't. anyone could be a serial killer. i could be one. plus isn't it horrifying to imagine hwat it's like to be one? to keep rotting bodies in your basement? to feel this need for blood? it's unbelievably creepy. insanity is scary as fuck.

Didn't they kill another person today? It's hard to tell because CNN and none of the other news stations appear to care. We're all getting fairly jaded out from tragedy.

I had a dream the other night about the new Hannibal movie. Only, there was this other guy who was even worse and he skinned people alive, including hannibal and also he wore they're faces.

Out here in Vancouver we have the worst serial killer in Canadian history who is already being charged with 15 murders of downtown prostitutes and there is probably dozens more.

I think it depends on your imagination. It's hard to imagine how an experience feels until you are actually right there in the moment

slugger 10-04-2002 02:08 PM

it all depends on what side your on. Everyone wants to go to heaven, everyone wants to meet god but nobody wants to die. Fuck it. Murder makes me peaceful. Serial Killers are the shit.

KrazeeStacee 10-04-2002 02:17 PM

Skinning people=good.
Wearing they're skin=even better.

obscured01 10-04-2002 02:18 PM

Seriously messed up.

KrazeeStacee 10-04-2002 02:18 PM

the only bad thing about being a serial killer is the law

HEHE NAWWWWW... that's the best part. Then you kill them too. and they look for you, role reversal! don't even have to hunt them down.

I'm like the zodiac Killer though, outsmarting the law. They're funny to me.

so now it's your job to tell me what i can and can't find scary? fuck off. feelings aren't objective. if serial killers give me nightmares and terrify the fuck out of me, then i think i am perfectly justified in saying they're horrifying. i mean, shit.

Samsa 10-04-2002 02:55 PM

and anyways, stupid, this topic isn't about serial killers. i just mentioned it 'cause of my dream. i seriously have to like outline my threads from now on because people are so stupid. we're supposed to be discussing what happened in maryland. obviously you people are too stupid to find it creepy as fuck that people get gunned down while pumping gas.

Samsa 10-04-2002 02:56 PM

because, really, there's nothing more horrifying than a crime without a motive. like maybe if your'e in the mob or if you piss your boyfriend off or whatever, at least it makes sense and people can explain why so and so did that. but you can't explain what makes people murder someone they met in a bar and then eat them. or what makes people drive around shooting someone who's just going out to get groceries. i mean mr so and so goes 'honey i'll be right back i'm just gonna get some apples' or some shit and next thing you know he's dead because some maniac thinks the only thing wrong with serial killers is the law. seriously. it's not cool. it's horrible.

umm if anyone's actually interested in serial killers

I found the books 'Serial Killers - The Growing Menace' and 'The Killer Next Door - Inside the Minds of 7 serial killers' both by Joel Norris an interesting read.

this article made me sick to my stomach when i read it last night

Five killed in Maryland suburbs; victims gunned down one by one
Thu Oct 3, 2:55 PM ET
By STEPHEN MANNING, Associated Press Writer

SILVER SPRING, Maryland - Five people were fatally shot one by one in public places within 16 hours of each other in Washington's suburbs, and authorities said Thursday there was a "strong possibility" the killings were related.

One victim was shot to death while riding a lawnmower, another while cleaning her car at a gas station. None appeared to have been robbed, and authorities didn't suspect terrorism, Montgomery County police said.

Investigators had not found any indication that the five victims, killed between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday, were related or had any conflict with anyone.

Still, given the timing and location, "there's a strong possibility that they are all connected," police spokeswoman Joyce Utter said.

Police were looking for two people in a white cargo van, possibly with damage at the back. Several witnesses told police they saw such a vehicle leaving some of the shooting scenes.

The first slaying happened shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday when a 55-year-old man was shot in the parking lot of a grocery store.

The man on the lawnmower was killed about 7:45 a.m. Thursday, and another man, a cab driver, was shot around 8:15 a.m. while pumping gas at a Mobil station. He died at the scene.

About a half-hour later, a woman died at a post office next to the Leisure World retirement community in Silver Spring.

Another woman was then shot about 10 a.m. at a Shell gas station. Mechanics at the gas station said they heard the shots but didn't see the person or persons who killed the woman, who was vacuuming her van.

"We didn't see any confrontation or anybody around her," mechanic John Mistery said.

In each case, the victim was felled by a single shot, police said. Ballistics tests to determine whether the same gun was used were pending, investigators said.

Suze, relax, really...I didn't mean your opinion wasn't valid. I was just saying that my opinion is that its not "horrifying" "scary" or anything in between.

Anyways...I'll stop talking about it since it upsets many of you :(

spa ced 10-04-2002 03:28 PM

A thought that freaks me out that I think about when I'm driving is if some kidnapped person is in a trunk screaming for help in the car next to me and I can't hear or help them. :(

I think you're talking horror-movie serial killers, and she's talking 'get home and your family is in pieces all around the house' serial killers... that's where the conflict lies

What about sick fucks who take truck bombs, park them near federal buildings and then walk away before they explode, killing hundreds of innocent people?

Even though I said I wouldn't talk about it...

I didn't really have "horror-movie serial killers" in mind...and even though he's not a serial killer, I was thinking more along the lines of Eddie Gein. They're all sick fucks, no doubt...but does that make them terrible people and "horrifying"? no. They're just troubled souls with great imagination. :(

KrazeeStacee 10-04-2002 04:23 PM

i knew someone who is stupid was going to ask me about that. did you not see me quote 'there is nothing more horrifying than a murder without a motive' ? and when i say horrifying i don't mean morally repulsive or whatever, i mean literally horrifying. i mean it scares the shit out of me. timothy mcveigh doesn't scare the shit out of me because at least his crime had some semblance of logical motive or reasoning behind it. john wayne gacy doesn't make sense. you can't understand why someone would do that. there is no way anyone can even fathom how someone gets to the point where they consistently and methodically murder people for no fucking reason. i was watching this thing on msnbc awhile ago late at night about all these serial killers and it just horrified me. it was talking about just. you get this impression that they're absolutely empty inside. like satan or something. like their whole soul is a vacuum and i just cannot imagine it.

well i understand that's your opinion i just think you should stop coloring your *opinion* with normative phrases such as 'horrifying? hardly' as if that's some like dictionary fact or something. anywyas. it's not. and you can't protect yourself from it either. you can't...it's so horrifying. because how can you protect yourself from a random reasonless irrational crime. it's unbelievable. you can like. like. that thing my mom e-mailed me awhile back with like safety tips for women. like they said some serial killers pretend to be disabled so whewn women go to help them they just grab them. it boggles my mind how unsafe life is, that one second you're minding your own business and the next second some guy is slurping your intestines. and what dead bodies look like. like they showed dead bodies on msnbc they were just like these gross piles of trash on the side of the road.
