I wrote ONE post for his blog. One. I kept my mouth shut and tried to ignore the stupidity of what has gone on with that blog, but after this auction fiasco I can't. I think what really pissed me off was an email he sent out last winter ragging on HU and Netphoria and telling his blog contributors not to talk about Kerry Brown or billy's girlfriend, etc etc. Monte really really hates HU (which is silly because HU is a fairly "positive" site). The real reason is because billy demonizes them and that puts them on Monte's shit list. there are several other websites that are part of the official SP "circle" that are well managed and don't seem to require of their webmasters that they kiss bill's ass and police the fan community for him. hint hint, you don't have to be a tool to stay connected to the band. |
nah you're still a tool
|
from you that's an improvement. yesterday you called me a retard and a fucking moron.
|
i do need to stop namecalling but you make it so hard

Scroll to 1:15. Listen as he describes an astonishing difference in perceived audio fidelity caused by 2/10 db of gain. Katz's inability to distinguish fidelity from perceived volume no doubt occurred in a world class studio. More alarmingly, Katz is a legend. He has some of the best ears in the world. Meanwhile most, if not all, of us listen to the Smashing Pumpkins predominantly on our laptops, in our cars, or using consumer-grade headphones, etc. And we're not even professional musicians or audio engineers. My point? You all have an audio fetish. Get over it. If you want to Machina II to sound better, turn it up. It's free. |
do you have any idea what this thread is about
|
I'm saying, "who gives a fuck?" about getting closer to original masters of Machina II. The difference in audio fidelity is interesting but unimportant. The Monte and Billy stuff is interesting, too. But REALLY "who gives a fuck?" about that.
|
seriously who are you having this conversation with about audio fidelity
|
himself. he's just masturbating in this thread.
|
Everyone in this thread who is drooling over a piece of plastic so they can have higher quality audio of Machina II.
Unless the appeal is that it is "rare" or a "collector's item." Then we're really off the deep end. |
yeah no one expects to get better quality audio from that MII vinyl. we're getting the re-issue in a few years anyway and hopefully that's when we get the better quality....

For the record, this post has amused me so much over the last week, the way it turned and all, just funny as hell.
Monte you’re an idiot, I would just run in hide for a while, maybe forever. I’m normally a troll, just watching and reading, but I had to comment on that last thing. Is it a collectors item? Even I have to say that’s a joke, of course it’s a collectors item, you’d be a fucking moron not to thing so. And truthfully, I think 10-15k sounds about right, even thought about cashing in some stock, this is the Holy Grail for SP fans. |

I don't think signed quitars go for more than $10k, do they? Didn't bill have a bass and 6 string on ebay last year that didn't make minimum bids?
