its funny how lala always posts cottonwood symphony as a supposed example of a great song... I guess the bars set pretty low amongst Pumpkins fans these days.

The new bootlegs dont get me excited or anything either... They do have the potential to be cool if done awesomely in the studio... But that hasn't been Corgans strong suit these days.

No use debating this shit until the new album comes out though.

cottonwood symphony is way better than any Eddie Vedder ukelele songs. It is awesome.

Too good of an outcome, if true.

ghost-mutt 02-15-2012 01:03 AM

for the record the line-up has been leaked and the pumpkins are not on it

it does look a good line-up, though

Shallowed 02-15-2012 04:20 AM

It's okay SP can always just headline lala's festival

i don't understand why people think musicians are sports teams you have to stay loyal to

fuzzyroes 02-15-2012 06:06 AM

staying loyal to a sports franchise makes less sense than staying loyal to a band you love

Trotskilicious 02-15-2012 07:04 AM

this is really like comparing apples to stereo systems so i won't even bother

exactly! the music they were putting out in those periods of their career was absolutely terrible.

i'll also add bowie to that list too, and i fucking love bowie, but that doesn't make him impervious to putting out shitty music. it also doesn't stop me from liking the good music they might eventually put out later on. i think some of bowie and young's more recent albums have been excellent.

ghost-mutt 02-15-2012 09:35 AM

young put out a few good albums in the 80s

Trotskilicious 02-15-2012 10:17 AM

you know basically i'm saying that if you're a real sports fan you're going to stick with your team because it's more satisfying watching the giants beat the patriots (again! LOL) when you remember the dave brown years. every win by the spurs over the lakers is that much sweeter since i can remember how many unbelievably frustrating losses there are against those godforsaken sons of bitches

also billy corgan is not going to get a high draft pick in the drummer draft so there's nothing to be excited about

Trotskilicious 02-15-2012 10:21 AM

i mean if the pumpkins ever put out a good album again i'll be happy but i'm certainly not going to hang around and buy their shit and go to their concerts in the meantime because of some misconstrued ideal of harmony and togetherness or whatever

i'd still watch a spurs game even if they were fucking horrible (every year it's that much closer to reality)

i mean again we're comparing oranges to industral lathes
