Does it really matter tho? I mean, sure Nickleback is shit but how does it affect your life? I would say this guy has a strong point in that the labels will suck the dick of a Nickelback precisely because their safe-rock and since that is what gets rewarded, it lowers the bar of the genre as a whole.

If dude wants to break that cycle, than now is the time to step up with an act that stands and says something of social relevance and breaks the chains that bind his band. But since Carney is bitching about nickelback instead of displacing them, he probably doesn't have it in him.
