which is worse to lose: hearing or vision?

I'm legally blind, it's not the worst thing ever. When I tell people they usually are surprised, even if I've known and worked with them for years.

I can't drive which is the only major suck factor.

i don't know. i guess loss of vision would be worse. i'd rather be deaf because at least then i'd be able to communicate efficiency and still be able to do things i enjoy like reading, writing, drawing, playing video games and all of that shit. only downside is not being able to listen to music anymore.

i'd still be able to read, write, listen to music, communicate verbally with ANYONE (not rely on sign language), hear emotion in the spoken word....

Wouldn't need a dog to go to the store. Could drive to work. Could cross streets. Could walk on sand. Could enjoy sunsets. Wouldn't need to learn braille. Could enjoy hot women but never have to listen to them.

Vision by a mile. And music is a huge part of my life.

You could still converse normally with people without them having to write down things or use another language. Hearing would be more intense. Not to mention sex becoming a much more tactile experience.

And write things down instead of talking.

98% of all communication is non-verbal. I communicate with my body language all the time.

I'm losing my hearing. As much as it sucks, I can't imagine losing my eyesight. I enjoy being outdoors, and I could continue to enjoy all that if I was deaf.

My mother was legally deaf, didn't wear a hearing aid and didn't know how to sign. If you had met her before she died you'd have never known she was deaf. Probably because she went deaf in her 40s. I would hope that when my hearing is gone I could get through life as easily as she did... except for the drinking herself to death part.

Yeah, I'm already at a 40% hearing loss due to a tumor that grew in my right ear while in 7th grade. Having no vision means reliance and no driving.
