just finished wrapping all the goddamn presents

and the wife says "did you remove all the prices?"

fuck it. they're gonna have to live with maybe knowing how much we paid for their presents.

is this a big deal?

Toby 12-24-2011 03:30 AM

Nah, it's not like they can't figure it out on their own.

i don't know what the fuck happened, but today i got the Siamese Dream reissue just by itself from my dad and on it was a scribbled out price tag that read $3.99

what i want to know was where and how did he get it so cheap

Toby 12-24-2011 03:58 AM

Goodwill prolly

great poster 12-24-2011 04:03 AM

yeah probably. from what i was told over the phone he didn't have a whole lot of money to spend this year.

Toby 12-24-2011 04:08 AM

Poor guy...it was nice of him tho

great poster 12-24-2011 04:13 AM

yeah, i definitely appreciate it.

For the first time in my life I've finished wrapping my presents before the 24th (the day we celebrate Christmas in Europe, you know), and I still feel stressed out beyond believe. We might do it like Severin and his wife next year and just fly away over the holidays. Argh.

yo soy el mejor 12-24-2011 07:29 AM

i had three gifts to wrap. not including the gift i bought in-store with the person it was for and that they wore out. that was e-z.

MusicMan4 12-24-2011 09:48 AM

i didnt buy anyone presents so this wasn't an issue

reprise85 12-24-2011 12:34 PM

same here

neopryn 12-24-2011 12:38 PM

i had to buy presents for like 3 people. i have no idea how to wrap so i just patch it together and it looks like shit.

and sometimes i intentionally leave the price tag on. i'm only buying them out of social obligation so i want them to see exactly how much it costs to be a part of society.

subzero 12-24-2011 12:45 PM

wrapping mine now:banging:

sppunk 12-24-2011 01:10 PM

I usually pay/bribe someone to wrap mine, I really really suck (and hate) wrapping gifts.

Some people get all up-in-arms over the price thing, but I wouldn't worry. If anything you can use it as a joke or something about how much you hate gift-giving.

TuralyonW3 12-24-2011 01:26 PM

HA. Wives are good at that shit.

Just try to remember if any of the prices are embarrassingly low and maybe selectively correct.

yo soy el mejor 12-24-2011 01:33 PM

the only people who would be sore over an "embarrassingly low" price on their gift would be the ones you didn't really care about anyway. fuck that shit.

killtrocity 12-24-2011 02:08 PM

What the fuck is up with gift receipts? If the person actually did have to return what you bought them, they would find out how much you paid anyway.

slunken 12-24-2011 02:41 PM

^ word is bond

SuckSuckStyle 12-24-2011 04:08 PM

I wouldnt worry about it dude. i have a family friend who NEVER takes the tag off anything and it's become some of a running joke over the years. no biggie. i mean gift cards are crazy popular and you always know how much someone spent.

my brother reads a ton and buys books online a lot so i got him an amazon card. then i got a microsoft office 97 companion reader/manual from somewhere in the garage, cut out the inside pages like to hide a gun, and put the gift card in there. when he opens it im just going to shrug and say "i know you like books...and computers"

Trotskilicious 12-24-2011 07:17 PM

JB, i thought you were an atheist and an anti-capitalist but i see now you are conforming quite nicely

soon you'll be an engineer designing your own dream house with a boat garage and a pool

Toby 12-24-2011 07:20 PM

Marriage = death

all of the gifts were either books, kitchenware or stuff animals for the toddlers.

so fuck you.

Trotskilicious 12-24-2011 07:37 PM

what you still bought and gave stuff away as per the requirements of a judeo-christian celebration of capitalism

28if 12-24-2011 08:34 PM

you didn't get anybody any christmas presents, trots?

hnibos 12-24-2011 08:38 PM

I only got two people presents. One of them was my dad and I dreaded handing over my debit card to buy it.

what was he even getting at? i'm an atheist and i celebrate christmas and i don't give a fuck about what it means. and the capitalism thing. who cares. i'm a socialist but i have a family and christmas tradition gives them comfort since they've done it their whole lives and why rock the boat? my parents are atheists and they just enjoy the holiday and spending time with family. it's not like you have to give extravagant gifts (extravabonsor)
there's nothing wrong with turning it into a low-key celebration of family

Toby 12-24-2011 08:56 PM

Xmas makes me sad this year cause I have no friends or family around....just a dog who sleeps all the goddamn time.

P sure I'm gonna move to fla in feb

MusicMan4 12-24-2011 09:02 PM

move to ny i'll be your bro
i'd even room w/ you

Toby 12-24-2011 09:03 PM

I have enough $$ to make one more big move
