The Hobbit trailer dropped

Seems like a pretty blatant rip off of Lord of the Rings but whatever still looks cool.

Trotskilicious 12-21-2011 12:48 AM

yes it was already posted

seriously what the fuck this is worse than george luckas putting out the prequels to star wars years after the originals i'm so mad

Order 66 12-21-2011 01:27 AM

i remember reading lord of the rings but i don't remember the hobbit, which i read when i was 11 or something. so i guess i'll enjoy this movie more since i don't remember much of what happened.

glad to see they got the movie off the ground before whats his name who plays gandalf dies. for awhile it was looking like it wasn't happening because of copyrights or whatever

redbreegull 12-21-2011 02:24 AM

even christopher lee came back after vowing he wouldn't

killtrocity 12-21-2011 02:34 AM

yeah, Christopher Lee is like at least 10 years older than Ian McKellen. I had no idea all of the original crew and cast were returning! Wasn't there speculation a year or two back that Peter Jackson wouldn't direct it? Obviously it can't be as epic as the other movies but who cares, looks cool

redbreegull 12-21-2011 02:51 AM

Guillermo del Toro was the director for like a full year, but he wound up dropping the project after putting a shit ton of work into it because of the legal headache

redbreegull 12-21-2011 02:51 AM

But as far as I know, PJ is using all the groundwork del Toro laid before he took over as director. very excited for this

So this movie is based off of some screenplay written in the 80's? OK, sounds a lot like the Start Wars "prequels" if that's the case and we all saw how those turned out.

Christopher Lee has looked the same age since 1970. Like he's perpetually 90 years old.

redbreegull 12-21-2011 04:08 PM

I saw Christopher Lee in one of those behind the scenes production videos they released a few months back and he is looking pretty old.

slunken 12-21-2011 05:55 PM

Cetaceans are secondary aquatic mammals who, with the sirenians, are the only terrestrial mammals that have made a complete transition back to living in the sea. It is speculated that dolphins evolved from primitive ungulates or perhaps carnivores which foraged in coastal waters until finally adapting to a complete life in the sea between 50 to 70 million years ago.

I hope they use computer animation to put his head on a CGI body. Like in Star Wars.
