I couldn't get fucked up because I was working, but these are the two most notable people I've been around while they got totally fucked up.

SuckSuckStyle 12-14-2011 03:09 AM

sweet. analrapist.

Banana 12-14-2011 03:15 AM

I see Bam Margera around at the bars around here all the time. Most recently this past Friday night.

The entire Jackass crew goes to the bars around here when they are shooting the movies but I haven't bumped into anyone else from the show. Saw Dunn around at various times but never out at the bars.

While drinking and gambling in Atlantic City a few years back I saw Mike Epps rolling with a crew of people.

willie nelson came up to me and my friend in a parking lot when we were high and asked where pancake house was and we told him. i asked if he was willie nelson and he said no. then he went into his tour bus. he was super nice tho.

SuckSuckStyle 12-14-2011 12:19 PM

Trotskilicious 12-14-2011 12:32 PM

does getting fucked up at my crib with the drummer from Other Lives count

Trotskilicious 12-14-2011 12:33 PM

i mean they are opening for the Radioheads

SuckSuckStyle 12-14-2011 12:34 PM

absolutely

SuckSuckStyle 12-14-2011 12:35 PM

i dont really like them, though. i cant put my finger on it. they sound too much like someone else...

Trotskilicious 12-14-2011 12:42 PM

i call them country fried radiohead

my buds are close friends with them, they grew up in Stillwater together, so we were all very excited about the radioheads tour announcement

i've previously seen them open for the Decemberists

teh b0lly!!1 12-14-2011 12:46 PM

was it just the two of you getting fucked up at your place or a whole bunch of people

SuckSuckStyle 12-14-2011 12:47 PM

yeah that's a good description. my buddy went to see them in portland this weekend and i was like "really?...:erm: i mean they're alright..."

they're like a mixture of sounds that have been so overused over the past years by different indie groups that it kinda sounds like some song that shouldve been popular a year or so ago but it's not good enough to remember.

i should give them another listen to, though. maybe i'm wrong. i also may be biased since the guy who introduced me to them is my best buds new BF who creeps me out. any song suggestions?

no it was a handful of my friends from around here after the last day of SXSW and they brought him with them, since they're all old friends

no i don't really like them that much either. i mean i'm happy for them and everything but you hit the nail on the head there, it's pretty washed out indie rock but they are all very talented musicians and they all play a handful of instruments. the drummer is really very good in a very subtle, jazzy way.

i value punk aesthetics, abrasiveness, and MASSIVE FUCKING GUITARS so other lives is not my bag

i've got respek for them and all it's just not what i'd jam to

we listen to it a lot at gatherings though because their friends are always promoting them to everyone. it's pretty solid ambient music for a that purpose

Trotskilicious 12-14-2011 12:52 PM

they are kinda like fleet foxes without the medieval folk influence and again, i respect them but ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

SuckSuckStyle 12-14-2011 01:11 PM

you said it.

good musicians. not so great result.

respect. not buying the album.

SuckSuckStyle 12-14-2011 01:12 PM

Nah, man. Him and Kurt Vile were eating at a chinese restaurant in Raleigh and me and a friend walked over after they'd ordered and told them we were big fans and heading to the show that night and they Kurt asked if we wanted to join them so we took our food and drinks over and everyone got pretty drunk except J. Then we all had to go to the show.

BlissedandGone2 12-14-2011 04:01 PM

I've never been drunk around anyone famous :(
The closest thing I can think of is that I was drunk in that video that was on Conan

Trotskilicious 12-14-2011 04:03 PM

i bet kurt vile is a super nice dude

MyOneAndOnly 12-14-2011 04:09 PM

I got drunk at the Owata video shoot:

Billy Corgan
Nicole Fiorentino
Mike Byrne

Kerry Brown
Robbie Starbuck

Way back in the day I hung out in front of a club in Toronto for over an hour with Bjork and her band (the sugarcubes). they seemed pretty well stoned, we (my friends and I) were getting good and drunk on vodka.

I was drunk when I ran into Hope Sandoval in a TJ Maxx. She was buying underwear. Awkward.

I snuck back stage years ago (with a bottle of vodka) and hung out with the guys from Depeche Mode and Nitzer Ebb.

I had a beer once with Billy Bragg.

Anthony Kedis used to live in my home town. His dad Blackie Dammet still does (I think) and was good friends with my best friend's father. I have run into the two of them a number of times (mostly back in the 90s).

I've partied with and spent some time on tour with half of the Ska bands that have been around over the past 2 decades. I'd have a hard time naming all of them. Everyone from Less than Jake to the Blue Meanies to Hepcat and the Bosstones.

I had dinner (and went through a lot of wine) once with Emeril Lagasse.

I met Rick Bayless, who showed me his private mexican cookbook library before dinner and drinks at his restaurant in Chicago.

I had drinks at the W Hotel in San Fran with Mario Batali.

I met Guy Fieri last year.

Yes, actually. When he asked us to join them, Mascis gave him a glare like he wanted to kill him.

Eulogy 12-14-2011 04:13 PM

guy fieri is the worst

Trotskilicious 12-14-2011 04:18 PM

man i hate him too, i think if i met him i'd make cracks about his hair and his hair for his age

i mean do lame people think that guy is cool? is that the secret of his success?
