I just got a keyboard for myself, and I'm going to get a book on music theory to go with my composition book a friend lent me.

Cormac McCarthy/William Faulkner novels.

A few guitar pedals. I have the Silver Rose/Hyperion II coming from Devi Ever, and I'm looking to get the Electric Mistress flanger/chorus combo and a wah pedal so i can do those sweet J. Mascis sweeps.

Vinyls. M83, Tom Waits, Drive-By Truckers, etc on my list.

Games - Uncharted 3, ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection

The State DVD Set (MTV Show from the 90s)

I also could really use some new cooking equipment.

What about you guys? We should have a real netphoria*con one year over the holidaze (or new years) and have a dirty santa party. That would be epic.

christmas lists are for suckers

i always kick myself for never asking for anything for christmas and always ending up with stuff i don't need. this year i've asked for a toaster oven and windshield wiper blades.

I don't make Xmas lists cause I never get any presents.

this is probably going to be my first 'grown up' xmas where i'm the one giving and not getting anything. i asked for things like a dvd rack, a mult-plug outlet, and other things i could use around my apartment.

i have suspicions my parents might surprise me with a flatscreen. but if they did i'd feel kind of guilty

i'm getting a 1700 dollar bonus from work so i'm probably going to use it to pay all that credit card debt i defaulted on.

I decided that I'm not asking for anything this year. I'm 25 and I feel weird making up a list for my family, id be completely fine with them passing on buying me anything.

I don't actually want one. ;)

I don't get christmas list. I'm a fully functioning working adult. Anything I desire I buy for myself and I don't want anything at all anymore. I hate most of the waste of money shit I have already.

I really despise that part of christmas.. people wasting money on things I will never use or like... because marketing gives them a sense of obligation or a false sense of selflessness for buying for other people. I guess I'm more talking about the elders of the family but still, I'd rather people just save their money. All it does is remind me of how much nobody really knows what I'm interested in...I would much prefer a cool book, used even, or cheap bottle of wine. Even a picture of me and the person in a crappy frame over a sweater from macys or some weird as pocketbook from nine west.. such a waste of money. More than anything I would rather have my family have their money to pay their bills or do something cool.

I really used to like buying gifts and I'm pretty good at it (getting people things they really want/need) but I used to make a lot more money. I'm not into it at all this year and I'm probably checking myself into a treatment place soon so one of the positives of the timing of that will be avoiding the present exchange shuffle.
