The Killers - Sam's Town: A High Alternative Classick?
I'd say yes, definitely, absolutely, wow!

this song is sick shit, an utter classic in every way. bring back 2006, I say. 2006 saw the release of the best movies 2 weeks apart...insane and classic |
can you register as banana03 and repost this
|
no, cause it's really great
way better than that new chili peppers more like the shitty peppers |
also banana would post it straight without inserting fun lingo like classick
|

sensual lyric.. |
christ is this why hot fuss is on the juke at the lustre pearl
|
hipsters: you are not as hip as i thought
|
i feel bad for the killers. hot fuss had some awesome tunes but everything since has been very underwhelming.
overall i'd say they are mid-to-high alternative. their most high alt song (which is also their best moment musically imo) is Smile Like You Mean It. the first few notes of the guitar solo are truly boner inducing. you can probably thank Flood's production for that. |
muse anyone?

i like the killers but yeah their first album is the best
|
I only own their first two albums. I played the records the other day but they do not sound as good to me as they used to. I am not sure why. I remember really enjoying them when I first bought them.

The Killers and Franz Ferdinand are both one album wonders. Neither made another good album after the first ones.

i hated this album at first but now i love it :\

By leaps and bounds, Sam's Town is my favorite Killers album. It's grown to be one of those few albums I own where I can't bring myself to skip a single track.
Hot Fuss is front loaded. Even though those first 5 tracks are 5 of the best songs of the 2000's - the back half just really doesn't do it for me. Aside from "Change Your Mind" - am I overlooking any gems in there? Day & Age doesn't have that same problem - it's moreso just a "B" album all the way through. Don't get me wrong, there are some GREAT cuts in there, but overall it just pales to Sam's. I know a dude who works for the Killers' agency, and he's had the chance to hear some tracks from the forthcoming album. Despite them being early versions, he says that the next will not disappoint. |
midnight show is my fav song from hot fuss i think
and i like to use the "i've got soul but i'm not a soldier" part of all these things that i've done as my ringtone :) |
that one song rules without the soul/soldier part
|
the bass-line on the first song of hot fuss is pure magic
