I had to be vague and generic enough to make my uninformed opinions hold weight. I have no idea what a 'decent distance' is with vampires, probably overnight or some shit. or like 18 hours. I dont know if vampires travel faster, but if it's by horse, then 18 hours probably wouldn't get you very far, so in the context of 'horse' i'd say pretty far, but the context or other modern transport mediums: not very. I say 18 hours, cause with a vampire you could probably pack your bags one night and be on your merry way, perhaps by coffin on a carriage, I dont know the details of these things, and then wake up in the middle of the day at your destination. Aw fuck!
