What do you consider the best Radiohead song?

The best band of our times. When it's all said and done history will look back at them and put them above The Beatles.

Anyway, I think it's The Daily Mail. Love this song. I hope it makes it on their next album, whenever that will be. I want a studio version of this song bad.

The answer is Lucky.

Dogfighter28 09-19-2011 06:53 PM

Honorable mentions to House of Cards, Planet Telex, You and Whose Army.

Probably Let Down

Banana 09-19-2011 07:02 PM

Also side topic, with a 2012 tour basically confirmed/announced by Ed O'Brien do you think that Radiohead might be quietly working away on another album to release next year prior to the tour?

MusicMan4 09-19-2011 07:14 PM

radiohead - everything in its right place

redbreegull 09-19-2011 07:26 PM

LET DOWN! there really is no other answer. music from the heavens.

jammin 09-19-2011 07:57 PM

banana, they're playing the daily mail on the colbert report during a 1 hour special on 9/26/11.

thought i'd give you a heads up in case you didn't know.

StuckInVain 09-19-2011 11:10 PM

I think they're overrated but I do like some of their stuff. Saw them at Lolla a few years ago and they were very enjoyable.

Favorite song? Hmm. Karma Police. Brother absolutely looks Idioteque.

faust arp + reckoner

i mean fuck, that's as tasteful as songwriting can get. there isn't a single thing you could subtract or add to these songs.
and almost all radiohead songs, actually. but these two in particular are two of their highest peaks imo

lala 09-20-2011 10:07 AM

genie in a bottle is a good one

smashingjj 09-20-2011 12:03 PM

everything after their debut is a cheap copy of it

??? 09-20-2011 12:40 PM

blow out / permanent daylight

aztec litany service 09-20-2011 02:04 PM

some of my favs:
street spirit
pearly
blow out
nude
in limbo
idioteque
palo alto
pyramid song
lucky
all i need
like spinning plates
and fuck it, creep

etc etc. i wish i could pick a best song but there just isn't

i think i'd probably agree that overall they're the best band of 'my time', though definitely not the most fun to listen to [for me anyway]. i guess saint etienne would kind of be like the anti-radiohead for me. also one of my fav bands. good band to listen to after a couple rh albums to sort of balance it out lol.

add this one to the list

I always loved High and Dry too. The band fought to keep it off the record because they felt it was just like Pablo Honey, IIRC

exit music

i hear thom yorke wrote that song in 1994 after hearing about a radio station dj making fun of his voice, saying yorke would "croak" in some of the songs on pablo honey.

the original demo contained the alternate lyrics "we hope you croak" and ended in thom quietly sobbing.

rottenugly 09-21-2011 12:30 AM

thats why it wasnt on the 2cd deluxe edition in 2009
