top 5 TeeVee Shows of 2011

Must be new series or returning series that has premiered with new episodes since 2011, Jan 1

1. Game of Thrones (HBO)
2. The Killing (AMC)
3. Treme (HBO)
4. Doctor Who (BBC)
5. Spartacus, Gods of the Arena (Starz)

Absolutely absurd to do this at this point in the year when Breaking Bad and Dexter haven't started for the year yet. Anyway... no order:

Big Love (HBO)
The Killing (AMC)
Justified (FX)
United States Of Tara (Showtime)
In Treatment (HBO)

Game of Thrones is nerd crap, btw.

I've been interested in Treme but didn't see the beginning so I haven't watched any of the subsequent eps. I've been thinking about starting the series on hbo go.

MyOneAndOnly 06-07-2011 05:50 PM

forgot bout In Treatment. that one rocks. Like US/Tara but not quite as much as others. Justified would be #6 for me.

obscure.... start Treme at the beginning of season 1. Well worth it. Amazing music and many cameos by N.O. musical greats!

TV is gay. If you watch more than 2 or 3 tv shows you are gay

Nimrod's Son 06-08-2011 02:49 PM

1. Sports Show with Norm MacDonald
2. ....

So far for me

How I Met Your Mother
South Park

Raskolnikov 06-08-2011 04:08 PM

So would Breaking Bad not count on this list, then?

Because if it does count on this list - and somehow just hasn't been mentioned yet - then you're all out of your damn minds.

It's been forever since I watched seasons 1 and 2, so to refresh before watching the newly released season 3, I'm going back through and watching 1 + 2 - and have been reminded swiftly and sharply that it is one of the best TV shows of all time.

For any of you who Watch the killing... have you looked up the wiki for the original Danish TV series.

major spoilers, as the American version has followed the Danish Series pretty closely.

I was intentionally holding off until after the season so as not to ruin the ending.
