yeah whatever. it's fun to be from an area that has a winning team. I'm sure a lot of you from the east coast who usually say that shit can't say that

Trotskilicious 12-04-2010 07:18 AM

because the west coast knows the spurs are srs bsnss

PkPhuoko 12-04-2010 09:01 AM

I honestly ain't scurred of the spurs. That recent mavs v spurs game has me convinced if we face them again we'll be able to take them again easily.

I'm really excited this season. Even more than the 2006 team that made it to the finals, I think the mavs can win it all. Their depth is rivaled only by the Lakers (when healthy). The other day against the twolves, they won by 14 without any of their starters scoring over 10 points. Crazy depth. If we can get someone else to take care of the lakers early in the playoffs I think the Mavs will cruise to nba finals.

The past month Mavs have wins over Miami, Spurs, Atlanta, OKC, Denver, New Orleans, Boston, and Utah. Eight for sure playoff teams.

Trotskilicious 12-04-2010 09:11 AM

So in the past 10 years how many championships have the Mavericks won.

How many have they even played for.

Mavs fans are such dickheads. Nobody respects the spurs and there's not a single team in the NBA that can make that claim and back it up with four trophies.

lol I have total respect for what the spurs have done. They are team basketball personified.

I've always thought people over emphasized them as an aging team, but this is the first year duncan has looked a bit older than usual.

Reality is past 3 years neither team has done shit worth talking about in the playoffs. Just have a good feeling this year as its the first time we've had a halfway decent big guy in the middle

FoolofaTook 12-04-2010 09:40 AM

I hate to say it, but the lakers are going to three peat.:(

Hopefully the Heat get things going soon enough.

Eulogy 12-04-2010 09:46 AM

why would you root for the heat you douchebag

I dunno, I see a few teams that match up well with the lakers. Teams that could beat the lakers and then fuck up the nba finals (Utah, OKC, New Orleans namely)

because despite how shitty the heat are, most of american still hates the lakers more and a good heat team increases the odds of someone dethroning them

I've liked the Heat since I was a little kid.Mainly because Alonzo was such a warrior. I grew up in the Philippines, so I could chose whatever NBA team I wanted to support. And watching him battle the Knicks made me a die hard fan. Then Wade came by and they got a title for Mourning after all those heartbreaking losses (fucking Knicks). I was fortunate enough to see those finals on a screen in a Walmart in Seoul, the only games I watched that entire year. It was awesome, cheering on the Heat by myself in a Korean supermarket. So when LeBron said he was coming down South, I creamed my pants!

FoolofaTook 12-04-2010 10:33 AM

Plus, what's wrong about being excited to see the the two most explosive young basketball players on one team?

also dwyane wade is not one of the two most explosive young basketball players

FoolofaTook 12-04-2010 11:35 AM

Whom would you pick? Durant? Maybe I misspoke. I was just trying to say that Lebron and Dwyane are a very exciting combination.

Eulogy 12-04-2010 11:37 AM

it hasn't looked very exciting at all so far

Nothing/everything 12-04-2010 11:41 AM

Hey guys, could someone explain this oblivious european what exactly the Lebron James uproar is about?

hnibos 12-04-2010 11:43 AM

Give them some time. Remember that Wade was injured for the preseason. And come on now, don't tell me you didn't enjoy those alleyoops in their victories!

If someone is the best player in the world in a sport like basketball, people want to see him lead a team to victory. Not run off to join two (Bosh might not count but whatever) superstars so that he doesn't have to shoulder the load on his own. He can't handle pressure and shuts down in the playoffs. He said over and over again that his goal was to bring a title to Cleveland, his sort of hometown. Instead he strung everyone along for months, and then created an hour-long special culminating in an infuriating interview where it took ten minutes for him to get to the point where he said "I'm taking my talents to South Beach" in what was probably the worst scripted sentence any person has ever uttered about anything.

Then he turns around and acts like the fans in Cleveland he fucked over are trying to control him when all they wanted was for him to be honest and not an epic douchebag.

If his goal was to supplant Michael Jordan or something, he already lost that chance.

Eulogy 12-04-2010 12:02 PM

not to mention

Eulogy 12-04-2010 12:03 PM

uggggggghhhhhhhh

Eulogy 12-04-2010 12:04 PM

bosh is such a fucking wiener

Nothing/everything 12-04-2010 12:05 PM

so bottom of the line is he went to join the heat to win the title fast, in stead of staying with cleveland and trying to win the title with/for them.

eh sort of.

Nothing/everything 12-04-2010 12:08 PM

sounds like quite the hypocrite to me.

On the other hand, i also understood that he singlehandedly took cleveland to a higher level. People are not grateful for that?

Most top level NBA players are capable of taking a team to a higher level singlehandedly.

But last year for example, he took them to the playoffs, then gave up in the playoffs, and then bolted.

Eulogy 12-04-2010 12:16 PM

but really someone else should handle this conversation because i haven't followed the NBA closely since the 90s.

I'm hoping the Bulls can bring me back to it in the next few years.

FoolofaTook 12-04-2010 12:20 PM

Ya, James didn't handle his departure very well. Don't worry, the alley-oops will erase all of the nasty memories! Wade to James! James to Wade!

Hip Hip Hooray!
