...is fucking terrible. memories radio rip.mp3

But in other news the Pinkerton Delux is actually coming out in October and might have 43 tracks on it?

AndySlash 08-07-2010 09:54 PM

Sonic Johnny 08-07-2010 10:40 PM

Actually, their output in 98 and 99 is better than their last three albums combined.

Sonic Johnny 08-08-2010 12:11 AM

uh... that's exactly the point of what I said?

TuralyonW3 08-08-2010 02:43 AM

this is pretty lame. kinda sounds like a Killer's ripoff. I like the Blue Album and Pinkerton...about half of the green album, about 1/4 of Maladroit, plus their soundtrack songs suzanne and you gave your love to me softly.

Red and Make Believe sucked, seems like this will too.

redbull 08-08-2010 03:20 AM

these guys are still so fun live

No, my point is they didn't really do anything in '98 & 99. ;)

Yeah, but they've been saying this shit for years, so I'll believe it when I see it! :p I do really wanna hear the SFTBH songs the band actually recorded in the studio, rather than the shitty Rivers home demos...

Astur 08-08-2010 09:44 AM

Well I've been reading news on the deluxe Pinkerton and they sure are hyping it up.

duovamp 08-08-2010 10:36 AM

Cuomo does not feel anymore. :(

Was it this board where I went on this huge rant about his current songwriting proccess? Where now he writes from his songwriting formula to churn out hits? That this is the real reason the follow-up to Pinkerton took 5 years, because he was "cracking the code" of Noel Gallagher and Kurt Cobain's songwriting, and trying to devise his own formula to be a hit-making machine?

Yeah, fuck that guy.

some good dancing music

Astur 08-09-2010 07:46 PM

Apparently there's this one track from Pinkerton sessions that Cuomo himself says it's gonna be the "You Know You're Right" for weezer fans. I assume he fucking shot himself in '96 which would explain many of the things that came after that album

Trotskilicious 08-09-2010 08:00 PM

RADITUDE!

That song was mediocre.

Hmmmm. "You Won't Get With Me Tonight" was good enough to go onto Pinkerton, but apparently they never recorded it as a band (only that demo from that Gimme Skelter comp). I hope there is a mysterious studio full-band version, because that song is fucking slick.

He could be talking about one of the two unreleased Pink Triangle B-sides that no one's heard...

TuralyonW3 08-09-2010 10:42 PM

the real album cover. not kidding.

weezer covered a lady gaga song...

this is actually pretty amusing to watch live, but yes

Corganist 08-10-2010 01:35 AM

I usually am not that hard on post-Pinkerton Weezer...but yeah, the new song is absolute shit. I don't even know if I can force myself into letting it grow on me.

I'm jazzed about the deluxe Pinkerton though. That's my one and only non-Corgan "desert island" album.

THAT'S WHERE I WANNA BE!

Eulogy 08-15-2010 10:25 AM

i'm having a hard time thinking of a band that has such an enormous gulf in quality from the first two albums to everything after that. embarrassing, really.

also i watched the first minute of that video and was so overcome by the douchiness of rivers that i could not continue.

redbull 08-15-2010 11:40 AM

people who can't enjoy new weezer even a little tend to have no sense of humor
