I'm a Rockets fan btw so I'm basically just going to be a bandwagon Heat fan because I moved here, I really admired the Heat championship a few years back (fuck Dallas), I like Lebron's game, and D-Wayde is one of the classiest guys around...but this whole situation is fucking ridiculous. I'll try to list why:

-Lebron's leaving Cleveland. So fucking what, he was there for 7 years (an eternity in the modern professional sports world), and didn't feel strongly enough about the the organization to stay. Kobe would have left LA if they didn't get Gasol (Cavs never got anyone even close to Gasol). The Jordan-Pistons comparisons are stupid...Chicago did what they needed to make the team a winner.

-The letter from the GM is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Who would wanna play for this GM after a schizo freak-out like that? Even all the Cleveland fans are calling him delusional. It's like, hey if you think Lebron's such a quitter, why did you want to resign him so fucking bad? Why do you want a quitter on your team? It's obvious there wasn't a good relationship between Lebron and this team's management, so I don't blame the guy for bailing. Also the letter was in COMIC SANS. Seriously, the Cavs GM is an idiot piece of shit.

-People bitch about him not being competitive and making a "super team." People would find a reason to bitch about him doing anything but staying in Cleveland. Put yourself in Lebron's situation. You're a 25 year old dude...why the fuck would you NOT want to go play with your best friends on a kick-ass team? How could he pass up an opportunity like that? Chicago was really the only other option (Knicks Nets Clippers SUCK ASS for various reasons), although they just CANNED their coach (many say unfairly) after a disappointing season, he'd be weighed down by the Jordan bullshit, and his pals from the Olympic team D-Wade and Bosh aren't there. People always bitch about athletes doing it for the money...well here's a guy who's taking a big pay cut to be as competitive and happy as possible.

-People bitching about "The Decision" program: 1. It made MILLIONS for a good cause 2. If you actually watched it, it wasn't some Egofest, just your typical ESPN analysts doing their thing, and a pretty laid-back Lebron answering some questions (questioner was kind of a moron but Lebron didn't write the fucking questions). There were no fucking pyrotechnics. Aren't we all immune to to hype in sports at this point? Has Lebron EVER giving a flying fuck about what people think about his ego?

-Shouldn't most NBA fans who aren't from Cleveland or one of the other stood-up markets think this is a good thing for entertaining basketball? It will be interesting to see what happens with this team. Last time I checked, the NBA was about watching entertaining games on TV.
