It's not that exactly, although Edwards aside it is the Enquirer, just you posting about it seems odd to me. Cant really explain why.

It is said to have happened in 2004. You'd think that all the oppo research by McCain, Hililary, and basically everyone else in politics who wanted to cripple Obama's chances would have brought this up before. They did, in 2008, but it didn't hold up. That would have been the best time to put it out there. We're talking about something that is said to have happened six years ago.

Maybe they're trying again out of desperation... maybe they found new information or someone/a group of people important came forward with evidence.

I just hope this isn't true. The last time this happened the Democratic party was really down, and a lot of people flocked to Bush because of what's almost like some bullshit morality rule that applies to upcoming elections.

No but Obama is in a much tougher position than Clinton.

The economy isn't exactly booming. Plus Clinton's shenanigans didn't really come to a head (no pun intended) until much later in his Presidency. And while people generally like Clinton, it definitely had an impact on the 2000 elections. In fact if the scandal never broke I'm certain Gore would have been able to pull out a win, because his relations with Bill would have been better (they kind of had a falling out) and thus Clinton would have been stumping for him more and using more of his political tactics in favor of Gore. Furthermore it would have given the GOP less of a sense to promote their moral values bullshit which won over a lot of disgusted independents who were turned off by Clinton's behavior. I'm not saying it would have given Gore the means to deliver Bush an electoral whooping like Democrats did to Republicans in 92, 96, or 08, but certainly it could have got him to pull out a win in OH or FL.

I would also add that the people of this country act so unbelievably stupid when it comes to shit like this (what a shock). If there are marriage problems, it's personal. It only should become a big deal if it involves rape or drugs. When rumors were floating around that Bush and Condi had a relationship of some sort, I didn't even give a fuck. Presidents are people too, they have marriages like millions of others, and just like a great deal of those, they may have problems. It's no one's business. If Barack and Michelle had a falling out or are still in the midst of it, that isn't anyone's business but theirs. The same rule applies to any other President. I don't care who they are.

And, really, in defense of Clinton: As gross as it may have been, it's his business if he wants to get blowjobs from some intern. He's a human being, he fucked up. Do you realize how many other Presidents probably had interns/escorts/who the hell even knows fulfilling their sexual desires in the oval office and elsewhere? It's just that we have no hard evidence. Really, Clinton's only mistake was that he lied under oath. He only lied because of the stigma that's attached to politicians cheating, especially the President, as if they are supposed to act like they have no flaws. In any other country when this stuff happens it typically gets laughed off and people don't care. Not here. Americans have a serious problem with this. Look at Newt Gingrich, he had an affair while he helped lead the charge against Clinton at the same time... that is low, and exposes what the whole Clinton witch hunt really was: a game. We are a nation composed of a great many individuals who put some bullshit values system above and beyond anything else, even if they personally don't subscribe to such ideas, or give them much thought outside of politics. It blows my fucking mind. I don't condone the President or anyone in a committed relationship cheating, but it's a PERSONAL ISSUE.
