I wanted to buy that before, but the infomercial said they keep sending you more dvds, and I didn't wanna get charged for that shit.

I just got the one DVD, end of story. Pretty efficent workout, but I've only been doing it for two days, so what do I know, right?

And Kahlo, awe! :)

I really hated pilates. I did yoga for a long time, then I used to walk the treadmill every day. But now my work outs are from shoveling snow and doing stuff around the property through the winter and summer. Start walking up hills every day and I promise you your ass will look good. Find a good steep hill and walk it every day. your legs will get stronger and tone up and your ass will do the same. lol good luck.

I have to walk up a giant ass hill every day I go to school, so hopefully my ass will look awesome by the time I graduate ;D

I like pilates. I take a class once a week. Not something I'd ever expect to change my body on its own, but I enjoy it as part of a fitness routine.

And pilates is one thing I really need to do in a group as opposed to at home or independently. I can push myself while jogging or lifting weights, but for some reason I really need the added pressure of other people watching for me to get the most out of a pilates session.

Seriously incline at a medium speed is the best for your ass

I don't get when people think buying shit is going to get them in shape, save your dough go for a hike.. no downside . but that shit is a multi billion dollar biz.. slim fast, south beach diet and other books, diet pills, yoga ball, gym memberships, whatever.. some people have no money to eat and some are spending hundreds to lose weight
C'est la vie

June good luck with this, that was not directed at you..

Starla 03-01-2010 02:40 AM

it's true! i found this out when I started going for more walks outside.

Sarcastic Smile 03-01-2010 03:05 AM

I agree... I suppose people A. Think its easier to track their total distance or B. Have less of an opportunity to get distracted because they are in the middle of a track with nothing to do but run

cocksure 03-01-2010 03:24 AM

jogging "around the neighbourhood" is embarrassing

Order 66 03-01-2010 12:44 PM

Thank you! I love walking around, I do it every chance I get, but I live in Norway. Walking around in the blistering cold for an hour... not so appealing. And it's like this for what, six months of the year? So you need something you can do at home. And like ordinary apathy I need someone to push me, so that's why the work out DVD is great, because I have someone who tells me what to do.

waltermcphilp 03-01-2010 05:13 PM

I got a 2 year gym membership the past december. It is working pretty well. Showing some nice definition in my shoulders and arms.

cork_soaker 03-01-2010 05:54 PM

lol

Mayfuck 03-01-2010 07:51 PM

got a gym membership a few months ago too. its been working out great. i've been meeting lots of men

Pop Tart 03-02-2010 12:39 AM

I just bought an ab machine and it's working already. I like it because it works out your arms too. I used to do speed skating (roller) and I spent a shitload on some new skates awhile ago but I found I'm too afraid to get back into it because last time I skated I broke my arm. I've been watching old Tony Alva DVDs, trying to get inspired by his lack of fear. I love the Alva.

I totally agree that it's possible to lose weight and get in shape without any machines or tools. This is one instance where if there's a will, there's a way. But $35/month is totally worth it to me to be able to jog comfortably and safely when it's 105 degrees outside in a few months, or at 10pm when I'm getting done work. That being said, people dropping cash on diet pills and fads is a frustrating thing for me to watch, because in those cases, the will is totally absent.

One free tool that I absolutely love is sparkpeople.com. Anyone else use it?
