Yep some of the speeches in that film are pretty dull. I think we are too far removed from the mindset that made Hitler's speeches seem awesome.

Seems like a pretty chill guy. I get the feeling that Nazis were pretty into nature.

Hitler didn't personally gas them. He didn't even organise the Einsatzgruppen or the Action Reinhardt Camps which did most of the killing.
