getting a co-worker in little to mid-level trouble
 

LOOOONG story short.

Two dudes I hate at work. Well, one I loathe and another who is 100% a backstabber with little to no shame. For some reason, they get along even though one is a homophobic redneck with serious anger problems and the other is gayer than new year's at fire island.

Anyway, I have come into posession, through no effort on my part, a little proof that the homophobe did something against regulations (went around orders to have something classified sent through email, as opposed to handed in person.)

With a few clicks of the keyboard I could send this anonymously to the person he circumvented and he could get in a little bit of trouble, like on a scale of 1-10 i'd say 5.

why would he send something through email that is classified? just lazy? is this something you expect happens a lot? does it put anyone in danger? dont do anything out of hate though.

I'm not much on snitching, especially this kind of thing - seems kind of petty. Sure, the guys a douche but I'm sure you don't always 100% follow your regulations sometimes, imagine if this happened to you. Or maybe you are Mr. Perfect/Responsible and never take shortcuts.

I'm with hnibos... if it didn't put anyone in danger, leave it alone. Just imho. I'd be tempted, too, in your situation... but I've never snitched on a coworker except for one stealing mass amounts of money and bragging about it to me. There's been plenty of situations where I took someone aside and said something like, "hey, I don't really care, but if you get caught doing this by management, you'll get fired." Not that this guy sounds like he deserves that treatment or anything, just saying.

believe me, both of these guys have gone above and beyond to rat.
