So, like Trent, you want Billy to get engaged to someone he met on twitter a couple of weeks ago? I don't understand the point of this thread. And why is Trent held up to such high esteem? I've noticed an unusual amount of discussion regarding everything Billy does in comparison with Trent. I don't get it, I just don't see what's so great about him.

As much of a Pumpkins fan that I am, I will readily admit that Trent has been walloping Billy in terms of just about everything for the last decade or so.


This latest development is just icing on the cake. Trent's boning this hot chick and Billy's hanging out with D-list celebrities and porn stars.

Did anyone hear Ghosts, or the Slip?.... and people talk about Billy losing his talent. I could sit at my computer using pro tools and come up with something better than that if I knew I only had 5 minutes to live. Seriously, lets compare Trent to Billy when he actually does anything worth noting...which hasn't happened since The Fragile.

I don't see the words Billy or Corgan in that whole article.

Regardless of what you think of the quality of his work, he's become the benchmark for being a professional, contract-free musician online. Album distribution, iPhone app that connects fans, an unembarrassing twitter account, etc. We'll see how the Pumpkins' fan club measures up.

While I agree with some of this, I do have to say that it's not as though Billy's done a whole lot that's worth noting lately, either. Whether there are a few fans of Zeitgeist and his latest television commercial singles or not, the fact his his music isn't popular anymore. So if we waited to compare Trent to Billy once Trent puts out something substantial, Trent would then win by default, if that makes sense.

Regardless, this was a pointless article. It in no way has anything to do with the Pumpkins or Billy.

Year Zero is still 100x better than Zeitgeist.
