8/22 Orlando, FL @ Hard Rock

Before Clearwater or after Boca, at the Hard Rock Live. Billy's played there twice (2000 & 2003).

I hope so, at least.

czr 07-21-2008 09:14 AM

It's GA though,, he's not doing GA anymore, just seating venues

Charlottesville is GA, and I think one of the Florida shows could be as well, but I'm not certain on the second half of that.

candycane 07-22-2008 02:58 PM

Hard rock is a pretty fun place to see a concert if you like that whole corporate vibe they have going on. I think in 03' Bill was spotted eating at Jimmy Buffets Margarittaville before the show.

I could be wrong maybe it was the Nascar themed one. Do they have a wrestling theme? Maybe it was that one.

Pass

czr 07-22-2008 03:49 PM

It has air conditioning though. Billy and Jimmy was there at that place in '03

toadkat9 07-22-2008 05:37 PM

Well, the last date of the August tour has been announced.... and it's not Orlando.

Austin was GA - Boca Raton is GA

czr 07-23-2008 10:09 PM

Billy wanted to do a show at avenue that had an address of 777 but unfortunately this venue has GA... He had to compromise because he loves the number 7 so much

Oh billy.....

i'm not sure. this is where i saw them in 2000. it was my first concert. i've seen shows there since and the stage is above eye level and i'm 6 feet. there's about 6 feet between the rail and the stage and the acoustics make the place sound more cavernous than courtney love's pussy.

there are better venues of equal size that would be much better for the band. but no, billy's gotta be a shill for a bloody cellphone company instead.

Good venues in Orlando? Unfortunately, I think it would be a strange thing for Pumpkins to play the Social, Backbooth, or AKA (all fine venues) just because they are more of clubs/bars. The money that would come in warrants the use of hard rock live, despite them fitting just nicely in House of Blues. Oh well. I'm just upset that you have to be part of this stupid promotional campaign vs. just buying some tickets. I'll try to go though.

Slurpee 07-25-2008 01:51 PM

The show at HRL in Orlando in 2000 was fucking epic. The only time they whipped out "We Love You" on the Sacred + Profane Tour. Billy also read a "letter from a fan" dissing Britney, etc. This will be a good show.

Jacksonville doesn't have anything good. Period.

If the pumpkins played The Social I would kill people to see them there; that's one of the best club venues in the country.

czr 07-25-2008 02:14 PM

no tickets for sale? What the fuck?

pumpkinman1979 07-25-2008 02:15 PM

How do you get tickets for the show?? It's really confusing. Do you have to win them or something??

It also kinds of feel like the stage is on the side of the room, it's a very awkward venue.

czr 07-25-2008 04:25 PM

Oh ive been to the backbooth and the social, Awesome clubs Very small though

There's a club here in jax that's like 200 square feet haha sux!

toadkat9 07-25-2008 05:43 PM

Wow. They're doing 3 of their 10 announced shows in Florida. They must like it there. It's too bad the Orlando show probably won't be half as good as the other August dates... since it's a festival and all. They'll probably get a 1 hour 15 min time slot and play a bunch of singles.

Dude, I don't think it's a festival, it's just gonna be them in Orlando, or at least that's what the website says.

j.willard 07-25-2008 06:59 PM

Yeh, i'm so used to seeing smaller bands I'd feel so weird in a huge place like hard rock. Huge to me at least.. glarg

HRL is pretty small

toadkat9 07-25-2008 10:24 PM

I notice there is only one "headline" artist announced for each city, but there has to be more to it than that. Otherwise, it would just be Smashing Pumpkins @ Hard Rock Live.... not Samsung AT&T Summer Krush series. It visits 7 different cities with a different headline artist at each one, but certainly there is more than just the headline act. At least that's what I would think.

czr 07-25-2008 10:33 PM

This is Samsung AT&T presenting a series of free shows... If it was just Smashing Pumpkins @ HRL Tickets would be on sale
