yeah tom sawyer was truly brutal.

i got there about what i presume was halfway thru the show while they were playing transformer. they wouldn't let me in without a ticket so i got one from some guy on his way out and used it to get back in, lol.

i've intentionally avoided reading threads about the tour and i'm glad i did.

i don't feel like typing a whole novel out, but i was not let down by the band at all. maybe because it was the last date on the tour and they decided to leave all their baggage, so to speak. jimmy rained clydesdales as usual. jeff looks more comfortable in his own skin. heavy metal machine -> classic rock medley was incredible. what was that thing with billy rocking the timpanis? because that was great. classic pumpkins that sounded nothing like the pumpkins. which in itself is classic pumpkins.

WHAT SAY YE.

and if the famous cabbage was there, does this mean there is a recording other than possible proffesional stuff?

not sure when they went on, they went for a good hour and a half after i got there.

godfuckingdamnit

keithnoir 08-23-2008 12:55 AM

The show was 2 and a half hours pretty much on the dot...
They let ticket holders in first, witch was only about 200-300 people, so the rest of the 3000 were e-ticket holders..

There was 1 camera crew, you must not have very good vision. It said on the doors the show was being recorded..

pretty good show, wish they played more old stuff though. does anyone have the setlist?

Piggy 08-23-2008 03:13 AM

I'm dry for the first time in 11 hours
Some moron was yelling "Play 1979" after almost every song

Exactlythesame and I were like 4 bodies away from the stage.

I was actually very surprised that I liked some of the tour songs that i usually despise. i.e. HMM, and Supachrist.

The organization of this entire event was just ridiculous but it was totally worth it in the end. The show was just incredible from start to finish. Everyone was just on tonight, and the fact they played their entire setlist when i was only expecting an hour was great. Billy smashing his guitar was priceless too.

thankfully, i got priority on the e-ticket to hard ticket trade for being part of the SMASHING PUMPKINS FAN CLUB! i was one of the first to get hard tickets at the event.

and rider said it wouldn't be worth it. :nooooo: 2 1/2 hours start to finish. a completely worthy show, absolutely free.

best free show ever

Thaniel Buckner 08-23-2008 03:42 AM

yeah. i mean normally i wouldn't even consider the 40 bucks i would have immediately spent, but i liked not having to pay.

i was an asshole. i yelled for spiteface. i know that asswipe heard me.

exactlythesame 08-23-2008 03:51 AM

piggy and i both yelled for it between bullet and TBITEITB. neither billy or jimmy were even phased. :(

superchrist->united states

Piggy 08-23-2008 09:32 AM

i thought superchrist leading into U.S. was hilarious.

He smashed his guitar at the end of U.S.

I think the smashing was just done to do it... He did not seem to angry, and he did not really damage the guitar much... He needs to swing harder if he wants to break it...

The encore was great, it was a nice ending to a show...

tsp gatmog 08-23-2008 12:42 PM

exact same set as boca and all the others but still amazing. i dont know what to say, it was just flawless.
did anyone notice what billy said at the very very end? he talked real fast like the end of a commercial or something and all i heard was something about samsung and summerkrush. i laughed.

no problem, i have about 200 shots from the show, and most came out really blurry and awful. but maybe 1 in 20 came out pretty good... so it was worth it :)

i used to be a member on these forums around 1998-2000, i stopped posting right after the metro show, i still remember people saying the they were going to call their answering machine and record the show via cellphone, wonder if that worked out for anyone. i think my old account got deleted after 8 years of inactivity, and so after making a new one and logging in to see "bolly corrigan" still going strong as a forum meme after all this time brought a little tear to my eye...

anyways, enough nostalgia for today! if you want the hi-resolution version of a picture just send me a flickr message. here's my favorite:

something along the lines of "this presentation has been brought to you by hard rock live, sponsored by samsung"

i laughed a little too hard at the "S'morelando" thing.

Yea it was a highlight. I was front stage again but all the way left which was actually great view. The crowd defiantly wasn't as good as they were in boca but were digging heavy metal machine.

I let someone I met at the boca show in front of me with the standby paper, I was about to get my tickets in another minute or so. That was a bigger clusterfuck out in the rain. If they ever do that again let it be more organized.

Piggy 08-25-2008 06:42 PM

I'm sure being all the way to the left was a nice view of ginger...

I never realized how hot lisa was until this show

Why? Cause she was showing some cleavage?
