Is there any indication that the "tickets" they are giving away on the radio and in bars are actually guaranteed admission? Typically when you win a radio contest, your name is just put on the guest list.

I do think the website said it would stop accepting ticket requests after they filled their allotment, so hopefully the total number being sent out isn't drastically higher than the venue capacity.

I wanna make this trip...

So far as far as I can tell there is just one massive will call list. It's hard to imagine them not having given away 2000 tickets at this point.

Someone go right now to the 1iota website request a ticket, if you get the same email we all got on day one then there is something fishy going on.

See that's the problem everyone gets "tickets" from the web site.

not sure if this is good or bad news

MonteLDS 08-18-2008 09:17 PM

With this just being a 1hr show this is my predicted shorten setlist:

Tarantula
Eye
Mayo
Tonight, Tonight
Today
BWBW
tbiteitb
set the controls
we only come out at night
in the summertime

maybe heavy metal machine & glass theme could fit in there too

i think you're overestimating how many people are going to be there, rider

TSP doesn't get that much exposure, seriously

Some people are claiming to have actual physical tickets. I'm awaiting photo confirmation.

I'm also not sure what to make of the sp.com news article pointing people again to 1iota.com, saying more tickets have been released...

I've also heard rumors of an e-mail saying "stand-by tickets". I think maybe some phone calls might be in order.

Read a few posts up, Also they can sell out a similar sized venue with no promotion at 50$ a ticket, but can't fill this place up for free?

Thaniel Buckner 08-19-2008 10:46 AM

well it looks like im not going to be able to go. at least not at 8am like i intended. work is dragging me in for this meeting at like 4pm on friday. how lame is that.

hnibos 08-19-2008 10:57 AM

aww shucks

Thaniel Buckner 08-19-2008 11:02 AM

i could just drive down and show up, listen from the outside. if it's a free show chances are people will start leaving leaving early when the the band goes into a zeitgeist-machina medley and i might get let in.

eitherway, i think we should all get drinks at cheers afterwards.

hnibos 08-19-2008 11:24 AM

hell ya! o wait... :(

this the middle of florida, man.

i honestly don't foresee that many being there

Spaldz 08-19-2008 12:18 PM

Isn't it quite windy in Florida at the moment?

Thaniel Buckner 08-19-2008 12:20 PM

the trees outside my window are dead still.

Rider 08-19-2008 01:07 PM

Yeah it's not even windy in Orlando. Just cloudy, no rain no wind.

Rider 08-19-2008 01:09 PM

If everyone wants we can do after party at Cheers:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndID=103173576

I'll talk to the boss see if I can get us a drink special

keithnoir 08-19-2008 01:28 PM

So, im not sure if anyone has cleared things up but here is the info I have.

There are E-tickets and ticketmaster printed tickets.
E-tickets are from the website, ticketmaster ones from radio give a ways.
E-tickets are now sold out and the only way to get tickets is from the radio station
E-tickets can be returned to site if ticket holder can not attend, or can be given to another person over the ticket website.
They are both limited but both of them are subject to capacity overflow.
But at the same time, I feel having a ticketmaster tix you wont have to deal will the book office. Just get there before the capacity of the building is met.
Here is the thing, this is either a tv or dvd filming ( im guessing for the upcoming dvd) and as such they must have a sold out show.
This is a General admission show because it is being film.
they release more tickets then they can admit.
Since this is a free show if people are not admitted there is no legal issues.

The whole system is a little messy and odd, but that is because it is a dvd filming and the tickets are being taking care of by a casting company and not a ticket seller.

If they actually are filming it has nothing to do with a pumpkins DVD, since the same company is doing the same event with different artists in different cites.

keithnoir 08-19-2008 03:16 PM

The company also does shows that are not filmed, they do not do the filming only the set up for the show that may or may not be filmed.
The only thing I would think they would film for would be a dvd or else the Tv station would be promoting and attaching there name to the show.
The dress code makes me think it will be on a for sale item and not broadcast.

I don't think it's being filmed at all, I think they are just using a company that normally handles audiences for TV shows. I have a feeling 90% of the information on the web site has nothing to with this show. Either that or it's going to be some kind of lame samsung promotion, "watch live videos from your favorite artists exclusively on your samsung phone. This is not for a pumpkins DVD that I can guarantee.

czr 08-19-2008 03:41 PM

Has anyone called and asked what kind of club are we supposed to dress like we're going to?
