Accessing Netphoria Problems

Some of you still seem to be able to connect to Netphoria however a large number of people are not able to access Netphoria due to some serious problems at a Data Center where the server is located.

Apparently one of the older data centers caught on fire and there was all kinds of damage done to their power systems to the point that the fire department wouldn't let them turn on their backup generators. As result over 9,000 servers and thousands more websites are offline.

The Netphoria server is actually in one of their newer data centers but due to the fact we use their DNS Nameservers (which were located in the old building) we are also experiencing problems.

Did they call MonteIT? He can probably fix this problem pretty quick.

Hang on, let me see if there is a tip of the day regarding data center fires.

Travis Meeks 06-01-2008 10:05 AM

Andrew, please forward this tip to the Data Center. They might have encountered a window like this which could have started the fire.

"When you are on the internet, you should NEVER say yes to a screen that looks like bellow

unless you were at a VERY respectful site (eg. microsoft.com)Most of this secuirty warnings install spyware, which can slow your computer down greatly!
And even cause you to get a virus and more spam!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Travis Meeks again.

Some people can get on because they have Netphoria already cached in their local DNS but for others it is inaccessible.

Dogfighter28 06-01-2008 04:04 PM

I disable javascript when I post here but the ads that appear if you don't disseminate viruses and spyware. How awesome.

Mablak 06-02-2008 06:49 AM

Honestly bonnie you seem like the kind of person who would post on netphoria first if you were dying, but then again I probably would too if I had no one around to share my awesome last words with

I wasn't sure before but now I'm confident I'm going to kill myself the day netphoria goes down for good.

Skradgee 06-02-2008 08:31 AM

Some people were able to get on still because they had Netphoria already cached in their local DNS but for others it was inaccessible.
