great tribute albums

i would have to say the best i've heard so far as long as this "genre" has really existed, is "whore: a tribute to wire". fantastic album. each track really stands out for me. tracklist is groovy as hell. the bands involved are all great. and wire are amazing. *splurgen*

my favorite song on it is hard to take a stab at. they're all so good, but i really liked godflesh and aminiature.

i'm trying to think of more that don't suck. and damn, it's a hard question. nearly all tribute albums suck completely or have only one or two worthy of inclusion on a proper tribute.
