Eulogy 05-13-2008 05:00 PM

before or after i watch the godfather trilogy

:erm: :erm:

ravenguy2000 05-13-2008 05:04 PM

Oh gosh I dunno. Probably before I'd say but if you're watching them as an adult with no previous background with them you might not think they're all that great. or really get them generally.

Eulogy 05-13-2008 05:05 PM

fair point!

Tonrey 05-13-2008 05:11 PM

i'm pretty excited about this, but i'm weary if they intend to keep making these movies with shia labeuf (spelling) as the main character from now on

Mo 05-13-2008 05:14 PM

I hate that guy.

"Not quite a nerd, not quite a hunk - Shia LaBeouf!"

not really. you won't really be missing many plot points or anything but I'm guessing there will be jokes and references to the other ones.

Tonrey 05-13-2008 05:23 PM

yeah eulogy you might actually enjoy the 4th one more if you don't come in to see it comparing the first three

Mablak 05-13-2008 05:24 PM

For some reason I'm guessing this movie will go way, way overboard with gratingly predictable comic relief and will ultimately be unmemorable, but who knows.

murgle 05-13-2008 05:27 PM

Oh I'll see it, but I still don't know how excited I am. I don't like Shia LaBoeuf

Nimrod's Son 05-13-2008 05:30 PM

George Lucas fucks up another great franchise..

pale blue eyes 05-13-2008 05:55 PM

I've only see the original Godfather but I have probably memorized the dialogue from all three Indiana Jones movies from watching them over and over as a kid.

I didn't see the Godfather until last year. Haven't finished watching 2 or seen 3 yet. And I also don't remember if I've seen the Indy movies. I know I haven't seen the Last Crusdae, and I very well may have only seen bits of the others. If I did watch them at some point, I was younger than 10 and don't remember much about them.

But to not answer your question, I don't know.

Spielberg is there to save him.

Hopefully.

What kind of a man are you? You should check your DVD collection, you might own the trilogies and can remedy this sooner than you think.

neopryn 05-13-2008 06:02 PM

i've only seen Raiders and I was pretty old. I didn't think it was very good.

ammy 05-13-2008 06:04 PM

raiders was my least favorite.
they're not *great*

holy crap dude, watch godfather 2 and all of the indys. immediately (well you can skip indy 2 and gf 3 if you want).

topleybird 05-13-2008 07:46 PM

Watch Raiders of the Lost Ark. It's the essential one, and you may not completely understand what's going on in the new one without it. I'm sure they'll explain things a little since it's been twenty-some-odd years, but people and things from that first movie will be appearing in the Crystal Skull.

I recently rewatched Last Crusade and holy hell that intro with Young Indiana Jones is embarrassing. Every! Single! Characterstic, mannerism, or identifying article of clothing that the adult Indy has, he acquired through a single, ten-or-twenty-minute adventure in his youth! Isn't that funny?
